Well here in Portland Oregon we get to wake up to snow....wooohooo. Here in Portland we rarely get snow any more....so get ready to see all of the news casts of idiots getting into wrecks.. Here is last year......this is a classic..... » |

here in NW Wa it snowed about 3+ "s fun fun fun! I love watching Volvos the most. Every year when we have snow there are many dumb volvo drivers w/o all wheel drive thinking that they can get around in the snow and they get stuck so easily..... Of course I'm never sure it's the same people doing it LOL.

In north Idaho, snow and ice
In north Idaho, snow and ice are routine but these winds gusting to 40 MPH at zero and sub-zero temps are both unusual and miserable. At least we are equipped to deal with most winter weather. I saw it snowed in Texas and even New Orleans. That has to be tough to deal with. The ice storms in the north east take the cake though. Cold with massive power outages is about as bad as it gets.

Global Warming does not work for me......It is going to be 15 degrees here in Portland this week...which is very rare. Thank God Natural gas is so low right now......I am cranking up the heat.
We had snow yesterday
and are expecting more tonight and tomorrow...perhaps all week. Snow is not all that unusual, but we had our first snow in October and the last couple of weeks our overnight temps have been ridiculously low, even for the high desert of Nevada. This morning...we have a weather station...it was 6F...when the wind blows, yikes. So, let's look for the silver lining...maybe we'll have a white Christmas.

We've had snow on the ground continuously since mid-October, and probably will until at least early April, unless a major warming trend hits for a few days in a row. I sure hope this winter is not as cold as last winter. So far it's not. Last winter, we had temperatures (not wind chills) of ten below in the daytime in November. It sucked.
Everyone deserves a white Christmas. I hope you have yours. :-) We've had one every Christmas of my life, that I can recall. I can honestly never recall any Christmas that did not involve snow, no matter where I lived at the time. (I need to explore the southern latitudes a bit more.)
