Congressional and Leftist Lies
An important component of the leftist class warfare agenda is to condemn President Bush's tax cuts for the rich. This claim is careless, ignorant or dishonest on at least two counts. First there's the constitutional issue. Article I, Section 8 reads, "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes . . ." That means the president has no taxing authority.
Presidents can propose or veto taxes and Congress can override vetoes. The bottom line is that all taxing authority rests with the U.S. Congress. The next time you hear someone condemn or praise Bush's tax cuts, ask them whether the Constitution has been amended to give the president taxing authority.

C'mon people, read the whole article
We're falling into the same traps that we accuse everyone else of. Read the whole article not just a couple of catch phrases.
I emailed Walter Williams a while back asking for him to publicly support Ron Paul on his website. Dr. Williams, who does not know me personally, took the time to write back. He stated that he is a long time supporter and friend of Ron Paul but that he can not actively endorse any candidate on his University page. Then we wished us good luck.
I've been reading Williams' work for several years and I have never once heard him advocate a preemptive strike on any sovereign nation.
The point of the article above was to show that the rich do not pay less than their fair share of taxes, and that the propaganda spin from the left is deceitful. I only included the first two paragraphs because I don't like reprinting an entire article.

Williams is also rabidly
Williams is also rabidly pro-war. He might be a free-market economist, but he's practically a neocon on everything else. The fact the he sometimes host Rush Limbaugh's show in his absence speaks volumes. I don't what Paul was thinking when he proposed his name as a possible running mate (he also mentioned Stossel, which suggest to me he really hadn't though about the question at the time), but Williams would be a HORRIBLE running mate.
Gov. Sanford would be a great choice. When he was in the House, he'd often join Paul in casting the only "nay" votes on bills. He's hands-down the strongest limited-government governor, and he's frequently been called a "libertarian", though to my knowledge he's never used the term for himself (I wouldn't use it for him either, but he's easily the closest Governor in recent history). There are plenty of other good choices- Williams isn't one of them.
This is utter nonsense
The fact that Williams hosts Limbaugh's show in his absence means that you could actually turn on the radio and listen to him from time to time. If you did, you'd find that he is a limited gov, free market, libertarian conservative whose values and beliefs are extremely similar to Dr. Paul's. More information can be found here:

I don't know much about Gov. Sanford, but instead of close-mindedly bashing him, I'll research him and hopefully find that he is a good choice as well.

I disagree
Williams is a great choice. And he has already endorsed Ron Paul for president. It is possible that Williams disagrees with Paul on Iraq but agrees everywhere else. I disagree with Dr. Paul on a couple of issues, but I also realize that he is the only candidate who is serious about dismantling the federal behemoth and returning powers and freedoms to the people. I believe Williams share those ideals.
Me too
Williams is also an awesome choice because of the following 1-2 punch. He'd be guaranteed to upset both those few racists latched-on to this campaign AND the many intellectual lightweights who use the racists to accuse us-all of being that way. And Professor Williams is exceptionally-well-qualified for leadership IMO because he DOESN'T have "executive experience."
I'd be excited to see him on the ticket, and when I mentioned him around Mrs. Paul, she said nice things about Professor Williams, so there's hope.

That's a rather absurd
That's a rather absurd argument. Yes, Congress passed the tax cuts, but they're still Bush's tax cuts. He pushed for them. They were his major campaign issue. He's responsible for them. Besides, even if you want to split hairs on who the legal responsibility rests with, they became law when HE signed them.
The real problem with them is that they were meaninglessly small. "fiddling with the tax code" is how Paul put it at one of the debates, I believe. It's passing off a minor rate cut as some sort of massive tax reform, when it was nothing of the sort.
