Who?
I challenge everyone out there to find a founder who would approve of our current tax scheme. I mean the Stamp Act of 1765 was paltry compared to what we pay today.
"Free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions." Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions of 1798
I think the founding fathers
would lead the charge for war. Thomas Paine would never have allowed it to come this far. They would have led a charge for Revolution way back in 1913. We are much more weak minded today than the wealthy plutocrats of the 1770's.
"It does not take a majority to prevail. But rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." ~Samuel Adams while plotting the Boston Tea Party.

I believe copious amounts of tar and feathers would be headed to Washington.
Restore the Republic! RP2008
True that!
What would the Sons of Liberty be doing right now?
"Free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions." Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions of 1798
The election of 1800
Thomas Jefferson referred to his election as "The Revolution of 1800." Need I say more?
"Free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions." Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions of 1798
They'd be screamign for another Revolution! (nt)
...
Let's not forget Thomas Paine
"We have it in our power to begin the world anew."
"Free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions." Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions of 1798
Getting their guns
All over again.
Liberty and Freedom are a beacon; not a bullet.
Well, let's take a look.
George Washington: He'd be astonished to know that we have such a large standing army. He believed that standing armies in peacetime were a great threat to liberty.
Alexander Hamilton: He worked tirelessly in order to pay our war debt from the Revolution. He'd be outraged to see our public credit in the toilet.
Thomas Jefferson: He would view our "entangling alliances" with other nations (particularly military dictatorships) as a total disgrace. He also detested banks, and fought the first bank of the United States tooth and nail. Now, we have the Federal Reserve system that has consolidated power over all U.S. banks, currencies, and interest rates.
James Madison and John Adams: These two believed wholeheartedly in the rule of law. How do you think they would feel to see that our Constitution is now perceived as a "goddamned piece of paper?"
