I'm glad I never liked pop and I've never even tried a power
drink. I drink my coffee without sugar , and I don't sweeten anything besides one spoon of sugar in my homemade chili.
It wasn't a conscious choice being worried about anything though. I just never liked sweet things. Oh except for jelly beans.

or raw sugar for sweetner. Raw honey and sugar cost more but it is worth it.

Alternative Beverages
We'd all be better off drinking tea, and buying our own dried stevia herb for sweetener insteadd of buying stevia sweeteners from corporations.
There are a lot of herbs that make delicious drinks - hibiscus, rose hips, oatgrass, passionflower, chamomile, to name a few... can be added to regular tea or try mixing them. Much healthier than sodas. Even if you add sugar, its unlikely you'd add the 10 - 12 teaspoons found in soft drinks.
I'm thankful I never liked artificial sweeteners and have avoided them. Sugar may be bad, but those are no doubt worse.
Glad the discussions on aspartame got
livened up a little again, more so because it was mentioned that Splenda is better.
Unfortunately, Splenda is not much better at all, and I will ask Betty (Dr. Martini) to elaborate a little more to give her latest on this.
In the mean time, please listen to this 2nd interview with Dr.Blaylock which was about 4 weeks later after the one I posted yesterday.. and I believe most will have missed it.

I use Splenda, I think that is better.

RC Cola and Diet 7-Up use Splenda.
You can usually find either Diet RC Cola or Diet Rite Cola in supermarkets, and I believe 7-Up and Diet Big Red use Splenda.
Pepsico messed around with Splenda for a short while but presumably was bribed by "the boys" to go back to Aspartame, last I checked.

Splenda is sludge, but "mostly harmless".
I see Splenda in much the same light as I do half the products in our foods--it would be better to replace it with something natural, but it doesn't KILL you.
Aspartame does a lot of damage, by comparison.
And wasn't it awfully nice of our chewing gum manufacturers to put aspartame in all the chewing gum out there--including the kind that used to be sugared--so our kids can get a good dose of it?

Wow! This one gave me a surprize that I didn't expect!
I was aware of the Aspartame problems (aware enough to stay away from it) and I was also aware of that there was an ongoing battle with the FDA to do something about it. However, it wasn't until I started to look into some of the FDA communications that I found that my own baby brother (with the FDA) was actually involved in it; evidently on the Aspartame side. Good grief! I told him years ago that he should find honest work and stop being a public leech. Apparently in April of 2007 he went out of his way to tick off Dr. Martini and, as a result of that, I gather that he's no longer on her Christmas card list.

I have discovered my family members have some unsavory connections, too. It is creepy, huh?
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
Yes it is indeed; especially when I consider that I have
another brother who is afflicted with cancer (a very long time Aspartame consumer) and that I was the one who gave my baby brother his first chemistry set when he was a kid and encouraged his interest in the subject. (Dr. Mitchell Cheeseman) After reading Dr. Martini's open letter to the FDA, in April of 2007, my first reaction was to find out how to officially change my last name. You can choose your friends, but your relatives are an entirely different story.

Actually there's only one disease
Sorry, Betty, but the effects of toxins like aspartame don't automatically make it a separate and unique disease.
What's this obsession with naming a new disease every week? Don't we have enough by now? Why focus on just one toxin when there's 9 million different ones to choose from in our food?
I subscribe to Raymond Francis' theory that there is only one disease, only two causes of disease, and six pathways to health and disease.
If you're not familiar with his book "Never Be Sick Again," I highly suggest you read it. Even doctors can learn something new, eh, Betty?
I do understand you're involved with some lawyers finding people for a class action lawsuit from aspartame poisoning, thus the obsession with having a name for this newest "disease" could turn out to be quite beneficial to all concerned, yes?
Aspartame is a disease
As Dr. H. J. Roberts says in Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, www.sunsentpress.com, its a disease because the symptoms are predictable and there is a pattern. It was Dr. Roberts who coined the phrase Aspartame Disease because its use is consistent with Hippocratic writings. "When a large number of people all catch the same disease at the same time, the cause must e ascribed to something common to all." (Rosenberg 1992). It is appropriate because this affliction fulfills these four Koch-like postulates:
* There is an identifiable cause.
* Symptoms and signs follow such exposure and are reproducible in a given individual.
* Improvement occurs after avoiding aspartame products (not always an easy feat).
* The same complaints usually promptly recur on challenge.
At Dr. Roberts first press conference quoted in his first book on aspartame in 1990 he said that if something wasn't done then in 5 or 10 years we would have a world plague on our hands. And this prophecy has come to pass. People today are literally dropping likes flies. He told Congress that the current wholesale ingestion of aspartame products by over half the population constitutes an "imminent public health hazard" because of the frequency and severity of reactions.

The gum in supermarkets have been contaminated with Aspartame. I was heartbroken. I love to chew gum.

It's all natural and made from xylitol - no aspartame at all! The cinnamon one is delicious and contains real cinnamon oil; I chew it all the time.

they have taken to slipping it into a lot of things for some reason. It's gotten to where you have to look closely at the labels. Beware of anything that reads "Reduced Sugar"... people think they have simply added less sugar when if fact they have an artificial sweetener added.
I've found the junk in frozen fruit bars, gum, and even sliced peaches.
It makes me mad when I get home and realize I've been "had" again.

Gum with aspartame is deadly
Dr. H. J. Roberts wrote a paper on aspartame gum. He says because it is a drug and neurotoxin it works like nitroglycerin under the tongue and goes straight to the brain. This is why so many have had seizures on a stick of aspartame gum. However, the Just Like Sugar Company, www.justlikesugarinc.com , a safe sweetener we've had analyzed and can be gotten on line or at places like Whole Foods, is now making JLS gum that is safe. Be very careful about using any gum without reading hte label. The news has gotten out now. No wonder Wrigleys sold to Mars.
