My dealer is buying gold for himself.

I haven't been able to buy gold in 3 months, my dealer never has it available. After 3 months he confided that he's been saving gold for himself. He had so much cash coming in from lower PM prices that he said "no mas" and is buying the gold he can find for himself first. He now has plenty of silver available though.

No
we haven't. I wonder why his mommy is letting him stay up past his bedtime. Of course, she's probably on a date.

It was my new, improved "nice for Christmas" look.
Not buying it, huh?

Not
for a second :-)
Maybe he can run for office with greed and we can throw rocks at him, too.

Go buy gold somewhere else..
He is not your friend and he is not taking care of you.
And?
Do you want to report him to the gold police or something?
Buy your gold elsewhere. Pawn shops are a super source for gold.
If you still have only that one dealer in your area, continue to buy silver from him if it's a good price, but let him know that you are buying gold elsewhere for less. Don't tell him where. Same if you find your silver for less.
Let him "hoard" gold, as you put it. You can feel free to hoard anything you like. Don't like his business practices? Then buy elsewhere.
I have a good relationship with him
and he's the source for other dealers in the area - can't touch him on price and he displayed a Ron Paul 2008 in the front of the store during the campaign - he's one of us.
I was making the observation that even dealers are buying PM's getting ready for the coming depression. Maybe hoarding was a bad choice of words. He's buying for himself first (even he has problems finding some) and then sells to others. Whatever comes in goes real quick so finding gold in his store is hit or miss.
He's currently stuck with tons of fiat that he doesn't want to hold. Sort of a catch 22 for him.
That's all well and good,
That's all well and good, but still not a reason to not buy elsewhere if needed.
Well, there ya go
His "Ron Paul 2008" sign in his store says it all.:) Since he's tuned in, so to speak, he's being responsible for himself and his family first. Good for him.
Sorry to disparage you in my initial reply. I totally took your title and info as a complaint against this dealer. Perhaps you should re-write your post (esp. the title "My Dealer Is Hoarding Gold") to reflect this observation about the preparation of SOME dealers for the "coming depression," as you put it.
