Too bad
Reagan was just a figurehead and was not in control of his administration. After the assassination attempt on him, which was probably planned and carried out by his own vice president (the Bushes and Hinckleys have ties that go way back), Reagan had little control over his mental faculties and Poppy was controlling things from behind the scenes. Dick Cheney gets credit for being a strong VP, but the Elder Bush was at least as strong.
What they say and what they do...

Obama and Bush can't talk on their own feet. The press frustrates them. Reagan frustrated the press.

That's because Regan was an actor...so you think he was better spoken Ok but he still spoke double speak.
I wouldn't discount that
I wouldn't discount that Reagan had core libertarian principles just because he was an actor. His first four years were more principled in action than his last four.
Reagan's doublespeak was much more tolerable and less damaging than the doublespeak that has occupied the White House for the last 20 years.
Reagan was in action the most fiscally libertarian president in most of our lifetimes.
