I am going to email this Christmas video to my "representatives" in the District of Criminals.

Merry Christmas to my fellow patriots. It was quite a year, wasn't it.

Lennon = Overrated.
The real driving creative force of the Beatles was Paul McCartney.
John Lennon was an attention whore, an egotistical self-styled revolutionary and a Marxist. Like many people who cultivate being outspoken, he would occasionally swing at social convention and land a home run.
We seem to put a lot of Lefties on a pedestal here...George Carlin, Dennis Kucinich, Ralph Nader, now John Lennon, author of the Commie song "Imagine".
Are we going to start lionizing Chavez and Che Guevara next..?

Thank you
I too miss this man of Peace. If he was alive today this movement would have more power. He is very misunderstood. I too believe that a world government is the answer. In this age of technology I believe it is inevitable. The difference is I believe the power should be in the hands of the people not a centralized government. People helping people voluntarily,
not though the actions of a govt. If John was in anyway helping the quest to this coming tyranny he would still be used as a pawn in their game.
The root problem is our military industrial complex. Our war machine has taken over country. John would have shed light on this problem. Marley would have also.
John I miss you

Lennon's Own Words
( In the book Lennon in America, written by Geoffrey Giuliano, Lennon commented that the song was "an
anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic song, but because it's sugar-coated, it's
accepted." Lennon also described it as "virtually the Communist Manifesto".)

Political beliefs are not
Political beliefs are not some sort of static birth-defect that are etched in stone. People grow and change. I've read all of Lennon's words, not just a few sound-bites. It's very clear that he was evolving. The proper application of a philosophy of love and compassion will lead one to a system that is free. That's what John Lennon advocated. That's what I advocate. That's what Ron Paul advocates. In this season of light and love, it seems that people could do better than slander the name of a great man with cliche insults and two dimensional arguments.
I agree,
I miss him as a great advocate for peace and freedom.
Mental gymnastics.
I give you hard quotes from the horse's mouth and you perform the same kind of contortionist rationalization typical of Obamaniacs. Perhaps if Yoko was shot instead, there may have been hope for him to over time come to his senses and come around but just like everyone else that's asleep it's incredibly difficult to break through the brainwashing that has permeated society.

Do you have hemroids or are just naturally unpleasant?
Lennon was a Capitalist
Lennon was a capitalist. Just check his earnings. I know the lyrics of 'Imagine' have some people thinking he was calling for global socialism, but those people just don't get it. The line, 'Imagine all the people SHARING all the world...' causes some confusion. Notice that the opperative word there is 'sharing'. It says nothing about forced redistribution or global tyranny. I've listened to every song, and virtually every interview that John Lennon ever released. He was an unabashed advocate of freedom and human compassion, not an advocate for dictators and subjugation. If John were alive today, I have no doubt that he would support our efforts. "One thing I can tell you is you've got to be free!'
lennon was only a
lennon was only a "capitalist" because it benefited him.. he did not want capitalism for others.. that is the way of the ultra welthy.. whats good for them is good for them but not good for the rest of us!

Thanks
I've always winced listening to the lyrics of Imagine but your take is kind of interesting. The wealth redistributionists seem to find solace in this song too, though. Maybe they are the ones misinterpreting it?
Register as Republican and Vote for Ron Paul
Wrong.
Lennon was anything but a capitalist.
Sure, he made lots of money. That's what the high-end socialists do. That's why they preach their 'one-world' crap..because it works so well for them. The Kennedies are loaded too. It hardly makes them RP supporters.
Capitalists are not judged by their bankbooks or portfolios... they are defined by their words and actions.
Lennon was a socialist.
I guess in the broad sense anyone who takes money for their service is a 'capitalist' but you stretch the meaning a bit too much for me.

If anything, Lennon was an anarchist/anarcho-capitalist. He was notoriously anti-establishment. So, quite frankly, you're the one who's wrong, and I would bet the farm that my understanding of JL surpasses yours by the millionth degree.
I would not doubt your extreme knowledge of Lennon...
..because he was a songwriter for the Beatles. And that's all.
I've already discussed him more than he is worth talking about.

Yes.
Wow, you're so clever. (Get it?)
NWO Globalist
Sure John Lennon spoke about peace and ending all wars, but it was from an NWO Socialist Globalist perspective. If you listen to "Imagine", it basically advocates a one world Government to solve all the worlds problems. His heart may have been in the right place (maybe not), but he was either terribly misguided or demonically misguiding.

EDITED: Actually Lennon is Ok
He was not an evil man. I had that posted earlier here. It was just a mischievous set up for a joke, but I couldn't stay up long enough to wait for the next reply to finish it. There weren't enough people on last night to bite on it fast enough. It was a set up to make a joke about that naked album cover that he and Yoko decided to do.
John Lennon was before my time...but it doesn't mean I can't
miss him either!
New math!
What are you fightin' for?
Caught in the middle?
Freedom is only for those with the guts to defend it!
Word
Strauss and Kipling and Jefferson and Paine were also before our time. A knowledge of history connects us to our heritage and gives us greater options and clearer perspectives.
