*Off Topic* Does Anyone Else Have An Eye Toward Yellowstone? *UPDATED* Could be Urgent!!!
I have been watching this since Friday and although Yellowstone National Park does have around 1000 earthquakes a year....the activity since Friday is rather unusual, concentrated, and higher in seismic activity than usual.
We've been preparing for anything for over a year, but I don't think any of us could outrun the caldera that is sleeping under there.
Anyone else watching?
I'm not terribly worried or screaming "run for the hills" or anything. Just watchful.

*Update**
This alarmed me greatly...but I am updating here to let all fellow patriots know what is going on and to prepare if you feel it necessary. There is nothing concrete but a geologist has called for evacuation of the area.
"Posted by geologist Christopher C. Sanders on January 1, 2009.
"I am advising all State officials around Yellowstone National Park for a potential State of Emergency. In the last week over 300 earthquakes have been observed by the USGS. We have a 3D view on the movement of magma rising underground. We have all of the pre warning signs of a major eruption from a super volcano. - I want everyone to leave Yellowstone National Park and for 200 miles around the volcano caldera."

Last I read
because there is a lot of small activity, a big one is unlikely.

If you live in a 600 miles radius of Yellowstone national park in the USA i would seriously have a back up plan should yellowstone erupt as per the recent concerns aired on Fox and other networks... ...
Remember the "Dancing Mountains" from the Web Bot prediction?
And the part about gazing upwards with mouth wide open? The Yellowstone caldera is the mouth of an underground magma chamber the size of Mt. Everest (per the History Channel). If it begins fuming and fussing, gases trapped in the magma will escape through cracks in the overlying cap of cool basalt like steam whistling out of a tea kettle. As this occurs, waves of small earth tremors will fan out in a radial pattern, eventually accompanied by pyroclastic flow, briefly creating a surreal landscape: molten earth undulating with waves of seismic energy.
These images match the Web Bot Project prediction quite well, as does the aftermath image of a devastated agricultural region and transportation disruption. (The gases could carry ash aloft for days, and volcanic ash gunks up jet engines.)
A significant eruption at Yellowstone could devastate the Bread Basket region, since damage to soil from volcanic ash would be complicated by damage to vegetation from acid rain. It could also produce a brief interval of global cooling accompanied by heavier rainfall in all the wrong places.
The 'window' for this Web Bot prediction remains open until mid-February. If Yellowstone does surprise us, and produces an impressive display that also impedes the use of jet aircraft, coming at this time means that a volcano in the heartland of America could be seized upon as a comment from God (or Allah) pertaining to the Israeli air war against Palestine. Imagine so many F-16's stuck on the tarmac!
They say there's a silver lining for every cloud.

Swarms of earthquakes in
Swarms of earthquakes in America’s Yellowstone National Park (310 in the past week alone on this tell-all animation as at 00.05 Mountain Time January 3) are a reminder that should that caldera (a super volcano) blow it will create a super- problem for millions of people. Imagine half the US covered in three feet of volcanic ash. This blogger has just-completed an email chat with Dr. Jacob Lowenstern of the U.S. Geological Survey, top scientist at the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory:
http://www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-commerce/2009/01/01/eart...
Seems like long-dormant volcanoes are starting to catch the world by surprise. The BBC has a video clip of one in Russia that just woke up after 3500 years. It has been belching ash 20,000 feet into the sky.

I live 80 miles east of Yellowstone, haven't heard anything locally. I think I'll just stay here, I would rather burn up than choke on the volcanic dust. God will take care of me.

this and the new madrid. geezzzz.

Seriously though, an hour of preparedness is worth a year in a FEMA camp.
Might be safer underground...
keep us posted.
if it is feasable ... i'd suggest anyone in the area look at permanently moving out of that area.
i'm surprised to hear about the activity. i know it is in the predictions to blow but its quite early.
I have been semi-following it
And I don't think it's off topic as it is an emergency preparedness issue.

I think the above
I think the above information and quote is a hoax. There may be an eruption but nothing like blowing up Wyoming.

I should have glanced at the site.
I just did. That geologist notice is TOTAL BS and that site is a hoax. Ignore it. I will post real links to follow soon. FACT: As of right now the opinion of the real USGS and University of Utah geologists and seismologists is, there is NO immediate danger of an impending supervolcano eruption.. Another fact, at this moment, the general consensus among the scientists is that the magma in the caldera is more like a crystallized mush. Not what you need for a VEI 8 event.

You can watch the realtime seismograph data at the link below.
The closet station to the activity is this one:

Shall I take it down?
We usually don't trust the government for anything else around here...would we expect the "official sites" to be warning anyone of anything?
I am not saying the guy is for real. I don't know...but I think that the activity is odd. When the average is 1000 or so a year and there has been 400+ in the last week alone...it's strange to me.
I'm not sayin'...I'm just sayin'...
Just something to be aware of.

It's not just USGS
University of Utah and other geologists I have read the comments of feel the same. The more research you do on the the yellowstone caldera the more you'll see it falls into reasonable expectations matching what they say. Especially read the "good explanatory" article: http://www.unews.utah.edu/p/?r=102507-1 (a few months older but good) It is very informative and from the University of Utah.
Beneath what is now Yellowstone lake are functioning, and remnants of older exploded, hydrothermal vents. This is where all of the activity seems to be based. If you look at the .pdf link below (bathymetry of yellowstone lake floor) and enlarge it focusing in on the northernmost lobe of the lake you can see them.
But be patient with this download and while working with the map. It is a massive high detail file of satellite imagery and is very slow to reload when you move it around. (37 megabytes)
The way I understand it, at least one of the general opinions anyway, is that the most likely event would be a large hydrothermal vent explosion in the lake from one of the vents in the system. (When water is flash boiled into steam and and explodes) That is not to say this isn't a precursor to larger events to come. We truly don't know. The last supervolcano erupted 74,000 years ago, so there isn't any existing data from an actual event for comparison. Look for the little darkest blue plus sign on the north lake floor to the right of the island. That is about where most of the activity seems to be based around.
Also the small inset map explains the geology of the lake floor. Center on it while the map is small and then enlarge it.

I think it is good to keep
I think it is good to keep on eye on Yellowstone just in case, but I would recommend removing that link. It is an alarmist message trying to create fear. Unless you can confirm it is from a real source involved in the research in Yellowstone, I think we can safely chalk it up to a hoax.
While the government certainly lies about a lot of things, they do not have complete control over everything. They are not all powerful, and sometimes a volcanic hiccup is just a volcanic hiccup.
And yet one good explanatory report

I have been buried in it for 3 days.
Geophysics just interests me that's all.
Nothing to do about it...
What are we gonna do, go out and tell the mountain it can't go off on us?
I'm aware of it and listen for updates, but if this thing is as big as everyone seems to be touting, if/when it goes off, I'm close enough to it that I wouldn't even have time to say 'oh shit.' Besides that, I don't suppose there's too many places to get away from the long term effects.
So, I figure if nothing happens, OK. I'm prepared and ready to bug out if I have a window of opportunity. But, if this thing decides to wake up and cut a serious fart, nice knowing ya. I'm enjoying the time I have and not worrying. I'll deal with it when it gets here.

I wouldn't worry about it, Scientist have never been able to predict an earthquake much less a volcano eruption. If it did happen there is nothing we could do about it and the fact that there are steam and lava vents venting pressure etc. make it unlikely to be a major blow out. We got more important things to worry about.

Yes
Actually have both eyes towards yellowstone every day. The eruption window, based on previous ones, is down to about 3-6 hundred years. May put that concern on the back burner for now. Figure economic collapse and dollar meltdown are a little more likely in my lifetime.
"..shall not be infringed."
Basaltic flows
Nah, Yellowstone won't blow up in this huge violent explosion. It will suddenly turn into a slow, basaltic flow. If you want to know what that means, look at Craters of the Moon (which is essentially where Yellowstone used to be). There will probably be a "medium size" explosion where all of the park (and maybe a chunk of three states - Idaho, Montana, Wyoming , max) gets engulfed into a cesspool of lava, but the big problem will be that this huge lava field will perpetually emit sulfur dioxide, and send aerosol particulate matter all around the world.
The combination of acid rain and global cooling will make us wish that Al Gore and his manmade global warming predictions were true.
Medium Size? Is the whole world exploding "Large"?

Hah fair enough
If you watch the discovery channel, they talk about mega-cataclysms that will engulf the entire continent or BS like that. Clearly that hasn't happened, or else we wouldn't have continents at all!
No, seriously what do you call "medium"?
I'm not convinced the whole western US will blow, but these calderas seem pretty serious.
Explore Orthodox Christianity
they are serious.
the problem is what happens to the world with all that ash in the air...
when a super volcano blows... more than 2/3rds of the world can have the sun blocked out from them. why is that bad? no sun. no crops. no food. starving people. then lots of dead people.
this has happened before and is scheduled to happen again. though lucky us... we still have a couple years yet.
