EDITED: I had this up last nite It was formerly "Wake up everybody", most know the story behind it (It's posted somewhere below). Since it started becoming a fun thread with jokes and community, I changed the title so anybody just out to enjoy New Year's Eve can have a little fun.

Happy New Year all to all my fellow RP and DPers..

(If us east coasters stay on til the wee hours.... ...We can celebrate it three times!)

went downtown, set up a Bush cardboard cut out in front of the Federal Reserve building, and sold three tries for a dollar shoe pillows to be thrown at "Bush" as a fundraiser.

Man arrested near White House
Posted: 10:16 PM ET

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Authorities arrested a man Wednesday night when he approached a checkpoint near Lafayette Park across from the White House with shotgun shells on the front seat of his vehicle, a Secret Service spokesman told CNN.

Spokesman Ed Donovan said Andrew Martin was pulled from his car when agents spotted the shotgun shells and brought in a canine unit.

Agents also called in the bomb squad, but no explosives were found. Martin was arrested for unauthorized possession of firearms.

President Bush is not currently in residence at the White House. He and first lady Laura Bush are at their ranch in Crawford, Texas.
