Detroit Average Home Price $18,513 Unemployment 21%

I have lived in and around the Detroit area most of my life. This city has been in decline for over a 2 decades or better. This is nothing new. I live in Dexter(Ann Arbor area). I made a point to get far away from the city when I started having kids. It is a scary place. It is a waste land. But don't use the recession as an excuse.

The city for decades has had
1. Corruption in city council
2. Mayoral corruption even going back to Mayor Colman Young
3. Riots in the late sixties. One of the biggest mass exodus of Caucasian people to the suburbs causing the largest recially divided cities in the US
4. Plight and decay for 30 years
5. Murder Capital of the US
6. High Unemployment even though the business have moved out long ago.
7.Complete failure in the school systems
8. Federal investigations into the corrupt police department.

The list goes on. It is a horrible place and has been for years.

This video actually discredits anyone looking for signs of depression and conveniently uses its shortcomings to show despair.

It's no different that showing the pictures of Pearl Harbor and telling everyone were under attack by the Japanese right now. This is old news.

If you show me the same footage of the suburbs in America, then I will become concerned.
