I sent this video around to a few people. Although I 100% oppose forced service to your country, that isn't the most alarming part to me The most alarming part is that 18-25 year olds who are forced into 3 month programs will no doubt receive "training" which will amount to reprogramming. They'll be brainwashed into believing collectivist ideas. I'm sure the Obama camp has all the psychology worked out in order to change 100% of young Americans who pass through this program into good Socialists.

I was out on the gun range today with my son and a neighbor...
practicing with an assault rifle, a 45, and a shotgun. I feel connected to the Founding Fathers and the Constitution when I shoot a gun.
I am very proud of what motivated people accomplished during the formation of this country. However, I am very upset with what our present government is doing. Our past and our present governments are now diametrically opposed to one another.
We will keep practicing, and other neighbors also want to join in next time.
My hope is that the dollar will go bust and our country will breakup into regions before this new requirement gets implemented.
In the meantime, we will just keep practicing.

I'm not ignoring how stupid and draconian this proposal is - but I also see overt oppression breeds overt resistance. You want to "wake up" the young people? If this doesn't wake them up - nothing will.
The really sad thing is the way that alleged "conservatives" in Europe (our neo-cons) have wet dreams about restoring "national service" in countries like Britain.

My 19 year old nephew said he believes the government should bring back the draft as that is the only way to wake up the citizenry (at least the youth) to finally get off their collective ass and turn on this crazed empire.
While I will never sympathize with such slavery - and, in truth, he was being a bit facetious - the point being that until people see the government oppression coming directly at them they seem unrousable.
Its sure not like the old days when opposition to the draft and the Vietnam War had the people by the hundreds of thousands hitting the streets and making the powers that be shit their pants.
