Manna Storehouse Raid: It’s about Control
The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and the Lorain County General Health District (LCGHD) have until about January 15, 2009 to submit an answer to the civil lawsuit filed by the private food cooperative Manna Storehouse LLC and its owners, John and Jacqueline Stowers (click here for a copy of the complaint). The civil suit was filed in response to a raid of the Stower's residence and the Manna Storehouse conducted pursuant to a search warrant by the two agencies and the Lorain County Sheriff's Department on December 1, 2008. Law enforcement officials seized thousands of dollars in business and personal property, including over $8000 worth of the Stowers' personal food supply.

I knew about this, through the DP, over a week before my mother,
who lives in Lorain County and gets 3 newspapers did. I hope these people kick some "author-itay" ass. Check out these links, people.
Spread your storage food around.
If authorities come house-to-house looking for food caches after TSHTF, be able to satisfy them by letting them raid your pantry. Wail and moan. Make them think they got it all. The bulk of your food should be in several caches that are *very* difficult to find. Buried food caches are something to consider: http://www.dailypaul.com/node/47266
I know the mere storage of food was not the ostensible target in this raid but it well could be under martial law.
