Do you disagree with this question?

This is a question I posted on the RNC Debate page- I'm curious as to how many of you disagree or agree. Within like 10mins it already had received a bunch of negatives.

Hamilton wrote in the Federalist Papers, "We may safely rely on the disposition of the State legislatures to erect barriers against the encroachments of the national authority." Anyone who looks back at the writings of the Founding Fathers, both Federalist and especially that of the anti-Federalists, can see that they are steeped with references to the sovereignty of the our individual states. They maintain that each of the Sovereign States withhold unto themselves, all rights not delegated to the Federal government by the constitution. That being said, it is obvious that if the representatives of the "Sovereign States", before ratification, would have been told that the Supreme Federal court would ultimately dictate, after being ratified, which rights were kept unto the states, and held the authority to strip them from her at a later junctures, via reinterpretation, our constitution would never have been adopted. Thus I ask you, as the party which supposedly speaks for the American conservative, will you finally strike down the modern unconstitutional notion that the Supreme Court was created to be the final arbiter of constitutional prerogatives, thus reestablishing the stolen rights and authority of the "Sovereign States"?

Good post, with the use of "powers" excellent post, but I doubt that it will find any favor with the Neocons.

Should be done. Too much corruption and too easily bought.

I'd replace the word 'rights' with 'powers',

as that's the term used in the tenth amendment:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people".

"It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood."
-James Madison

...let it not be said that we did nothing.
-Ron Paul

Good call. And a valid point.

It contains some minor writing errors. I've edited it for you:

You'll notice most of the edits entail removing capitalization and quotes. I did not edit Hamilton. I assumed you quoted him accurately.

I don't know how a political party boss strikes down a notion but he/she could certainly advocate along those lines.

Thanks. An immaculate adherence to grammatical laws has never been my strong point. Lol.

I agree with the both of you. However it always makes me feel a little better to know that there have been many people who, in the face of what seemed like unbeatable odds, stood firm and threw off the shackles of oppression. Hopefully if the sleeping giant ever awakes, Liberty will have the numbers!

I would rather have some form of transit to Washington, a huge mass of people- some with a fair bit of knowledge about the application of tar and feathers. Those of us who don't, well we can learn through hands on experience.
