'We determine who sits in the Senate'
Harry Reid cites 'legal authority' to bar Illinois pick
What legal authority?

Under the Constitution, Reid said, "We determine who sits in the Senate. And the House (of Representatives) determines who sits in the House. So there's clearly legal authority for us to do whatever we want to do. This goes back for generations."

Not that I care much but what part of the constitution gives Harry Reid the authority to back up his statement?

they all are, with the exception of maybe 12, wow what a number, the number of Christ's disciples..., and the number of people on a jury, hmmm...
