This reply by hawkiye is the second best comment on censorship that I have ever read on Daily Paul.......
On December 27th, 2008 hawkiye says:

"I think your missing something Republicae. What keeps you coming back? Why is it you and the rest of us can overlook things that we feel are not relevant and continue on here? I believe it is because of the lack of censorship

Diversity is the key to the success of DP. Start implementing collectivist censorship and this board will die. The watch cry is always; it's not censorship its just common decency and staying on topic. Why can't people take responsibility for what they decide to read instead of trying to brow beat people into posting only things they think are relevant? It is no wonder this country is in dire straights because even patriots can't seem to completely control their desire to control others and censor them.

Those people that can't abide something they disagree with or think its a bunch of conspiracy nuts are running their media programing and don't even know it. They are the same people that voted for McCain because while he wasn't their first choice they thought he was better then Obama. I don't think it has much to do with being successful in business. Attend a republican central committee meeting and you'll see lots successful business people who don't have a clue what's going on and are hopeless to converting to the truth.

I am sorry if people can't convert their neocon friends but it's not the DP's fault. It's their friends close mindedness that is at fault. I don't send people I am trying to convert here either that is not what this board is for. To me this board is more of a think tank and news outlet for the hard core troops and a bastion of freedom of speech in a sea of collectivism. I don't send people here unless they are already on board. Again ask yourself why you still come here even if you don't like a percentage of the posts?

Has anyone really figured out the actual percentage of posts on conspiracy theories there are here? I doubt it's even ten percent but even if it is why is it folks can't just ignore that which they don't feel is important?

Why does everyone have such a hard time taking responsibility for what they read? The lack of censorship here is what has made DP one of the best boards on the net. If the Mods are now going to crack down on what they think is hurting DP they will be in for a surprise at how many more people leave for good.

It's the holidays people are busy with family etc. it is natural for attendance to drop off at this time.

Visit Free Republic and try and speak passionately about Dr. Paul and see how censorship can ruin a board. I am not interested in a back slapping club where everyone agrees and anyone who doesn't is censored or banned. I think threads like this bitching about what others post are more distracting then anything else here."

LibBerte, your Cornerstones comment would be the best. It is the finest piece on liberty that I have ever read.
