What percentage of the US population do you think will have to be enlightened & converted for the RP revolution to succeed?

In trying to gage the status of the RP revolution, I am trying to estimate what percentage of the American population will have to be enlighten and converted for the RP revolution to succeed?

My guess is, it will take 25% to swing either an election or public thinking. I believe we currently only have between 3-5% - which leaves us a long row to hoe!

The number of registered voters in the US equal:
169 million registered - 86 million democrat - 55 million republican - 28 million others registered.

It would take 25-50% because only 10% of that would do anything

Basically it's over for America.

We need a dictator or some type of military coup to create any real change.

You guys can't even take your rinky dink local gov in the suburbs, you have no chance against the big guys.

I'm not a defeatist, it just logically and realistically takes action locally to even begin to make a dent.

Most people on this site still think a senate seat or somehow winning the Presidency would solve everything for them.

Even the ones who say they don't act in this manner (Ron Paul, BJ Lawsom, Forsythe, Dr Murray, etc, etc).

The reality is that the base needs to be there BEFORE people are elected.

It's hard to say.

I honestly don't think we have 3-5%, either. We have many millions of allies on single issues (gun control, for example), but I believe the movement, at this writing, only compromises around one million people, max. That's not even 1% of the population.

targeting the quick minded to get quicker success

~
Because you have bought up Stategic Activism in the past, ralphwaldo, thought I should share the fact that the sheep may have to be bypassed at this late stage of the game, and we have to immediately start identifying and targeting those who think outside the box. I wrote this before, but it bears repeating one more time. Hear me out...

It was a great pleasure to have at least four of my friends... make their own point to tell me ... that they had watched Ron Paul's Rally for the Republic speech on CSPAN and were highly impressed!

That speech really was a winner...

Now, aside from that rare moment of clarity, I was talking with another supporter, asking him, why is it that the truth is so crystal clear to us, and others can't see it? I don't get it! He mentioned...have you ever heard of The Four Temperments?

Yes, I know there are variations to this theme, but it essentially states that different personality types are wired differently (my thought).

The largest group is the guardians...the status quo, traditional, trust authority...seek security, etc.

The rationals only comprise 5-10% of the population, are problem solvers, value intelligence and are rigorously logical and fiercely independent in their thinking.

... You get the idea, we think different and wonder why everyone else can't ... but others are stuck and it takes a helluva lot to drag them from their comfortable mindset.

It all starts to make sense if you check it out...

agree - great thread

I have come to this conclusion also and have started targeting people by my assessment of their personality type. For example, there seems to be a large number of entrepreneurs in the RP movement - this would seem to be a good group to target.

Appreciate your post as it I'm sure reading "the Four Temperaments" will help me target people more effectively.

I think you are on to something here Wiz!

But considering our movement would help all citizens, you would think it would be easy for everyone to grasp.

and he largest group is ...

The guardians...the status quo, traditional, trust authority...seek security, etc.

Why would they gravitate towards us?

Example: how many voted third party?

Convince them that Ron Paul is a real authority

then back it up with facts (how he predicted the current crisis, how fiat money never works, etc.)

That is weird

Must be a counter intelligence / infiltration initiative!

The harder we work

the less warm bodies we need.
So it boils down to how much
are we willing to do.Look how much Ron Paul has done.He is
only one man!

10%

I think a good solid 10% would do it. That would be a high percentage of politically active people. We can bet Obama is going to let his flock down (as he is already doing), and many of them will be looking for answers. We have the answers.

I think at 10%, the message would be infectious, and spread faster. Getting honest elections is quite another matter.

5%

will be enough if they are determined. Most voters go with the opinion flow around them. 5% who are enthusiastic would dwarf any other strong ideology.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

I agree

And I think Ralph Waldo's estimate we already have 3-5% is an overestimate. 3-5% is enough.

Here's my take on the "numbers game".

What if the powers-that-be are no longer able to govern in the way that have before?

A complete 180 degree change of course is not impossible. In fact, the worse the economic situation gets, the more likely it becomes.

Very quickly your worst enemies could become your best friends.
"That Socialism would be immediately practicable if an omnipotent and omniscient Deity were personally to descend to take in hand the government of human affairs is incontestable." - Ludwig Von Mises.

40%

40% of registered voters plus a groundswell of newly registered non-voters. There is a great deal of change and understanding that must take place before we get there though. I think it will take many generations. It could 'turn on a dime' though, given enough of an event.

I agree

to be honest I don't think I will live to see people with a true understanding of what is going on. Those in charge will pull the plug soon and information will be hard to come by.

Jack Welch said...

Jack Welch claimed that 25% of the people are self motivated and self thinking. 25% of the people need to be pushed and they are slow to self-initiative. 50% of the people are basically on the fence.

They key is to appeal to the 25% of the people who think critically and are self motivated. When you get enough of these people on-board, most of the people "50% on the fence" will follow; provided they have the problem/solution truthfully and logically explained.

Need I explain ?

Yes

and people in hell want ice water too.

True but

If we are not in it to win it, we might as well quit spinning our wheels and forget it!

Keep up the good fight

It is a question when the American people get fed up, not our trying to educate them by itself. It will take both. For now the majority think we're kooky.

All great truths begin as blasphemy's.

Good question

Ralph. I think it would have to have at least 20% of highly informed people. Many people have a tiny bit of info that is just not enough because of the size of the problem to be effective. It would be great to start over hearing people talking like us, then I would KNOW we were making progress. Peace

It's a numbers game and RP has said we have to increase

our numbers.

I am concerned that we are not make progress as fast as we need to!

5%

Spread across the nation

The number I keep hearing is

The number I keep hearing is 15% but I would love to see 20%. I expect we have more like 8%. Still a long way to go, but it is do-able!
