I'm going to Prague in the summer
While there I am going to travel to Berlin and Austria as well. These are some of the great spots to see on my liberty venture. I wonder if the people of Austria know the Austrian economists. I know people in the Czech republic do.

The good Vaclav Claus is now the president of the evil EU.
Now that the good Vaclav Claus (he invited RP), because of a weird twist of fate, has become the president of the evil EU parlement, I hope he can manage to stirr it up!
I hope he can make the people rise up against the (forced upon) EU superstate.
Yesterday he already happely ruined the EU’s party at Prague Castle

Some EU info
Unfortunately, Vaclav Klaus is more of a figurehead. So the show will mostly be stolen by Topolanek, the prime minister - who is a pragmatic (mainstream) kind of guy, even if deep at heart he knows Klaus is right.
So the Czech Republic now holds the Presidency of the EU Council (not the European Parliament) - for six months, until 30 June 2009.
There are 4 main European institutions:
1. The unelected EU Commission - sort of a government that has exclusive right to initiate legislation in cross border areas - which is starting to mean practically anything. It is also starting to have executive powers too.
2. The directly elected European Parliament - which only has the power to block legislation or suggest amendments - but in practice acts very much like the Supreme Soviet acted: rubberstamping)
3. The EU Council, which comprises of national governments - sharing co-decision powers with the European Parliament. This is the leaders' cartel. They generally agree that the EU must become the United States of Europe. Those that don't agree, keep it inside their guts and never show it.
Vaclav Klaus is a prominent exception.
4. The European Court of Justice - which decides "in the spirit of the Union" - and establishes case law too, bypassing national pariaments of member states.
Vaclav Klaus will address the European Parliament on February 19 - I'll certainly post a youtube vid on my europarl account...
Next European elections are in June 2009.
cheers to all Ron Paul supporters

Not Ron Paul's greatest speech, but
... as usual, he speaks with conviction and integrity. Heart-warming man. We are lucky to have him in our midst, fighting for justice, where most in politics fight for their privileges.
Can we clone him, please? :)

But not in Congress, when the constitution is raped
"Ron Paul Speaks in Prague "
But not in Congress, while the constitution is being raped...
Ron Paul stood by with no objection as a man who would only provide a recently created partial birth certification from a state with flaky certification laws, who himself admits he was a dual UK-US citizen at birth, and likely was an Indonesian citizen, and blocked all avenues of verification using legal technicalities was certified for the US presidency.
SHAME SHAME SHAME Ron Paul

Here is the official story on the birth certificate...
...from Wikipedia.
"Barack Obama was born at the Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu, Hawaii."
Three questions occur to me:
1. Is Ron Paul actually convinced that Obama was not born in Hawaii?
2. If Ron Paul was actually convinced that Obama wasn't a natural born citizen, what are the chances of the Obama presidency being invalidated?
3. If Obama's presidency was invalidated, how would that advance the Liberty movement even one iota?
"That Socialism would be immediately practicable if an omnipotent and omniscient Deity were personally to descend to take in hand the government of human affairs is incontestable." - Ludwig Von Mises.
Its not the "birth certificate"; this is a smoke screen
At birth, Obama was (to his admssion) a dual-national. Obama likely became an Indonesian citizen. There are other possibilites, but even if he were born in Hawaii (which I think is possible), there are serious questions.

So you think he might have been born in Hawaii?
If he was wouldn't that make him "natural born" under the US constitution?

"If he was wouldn't that
"If he was wouldn't that make him "natural born" under the US constitution?"
No. Maybe native born.
Natural born is not defined in law outside the constitution (part of the problem). To the fathers it meant something very specific. A dual citizen (by treaty) at birth may not (and likely would not) qualify.
What if he became an Indonesian citizen? What is his citizenship status now? Answer = naturalized (at best).

Given everything that you just said...
...can't you see why Ron Paul won't touch this issue with a bargepole?
"That Socialism would be immediately practicable if an omnipotent and omniscient Deity were personally to descend to take in hand the government of human affairs is incontestable." - Ludwig Von Mises.
Yes, but I think Brit's point is
that Ron Paul is acting wisely to stay out of the discussion. IF the Supreme Court states that Obama is inelligible it will create an uproar, since the mayority of the public sees him as the legitimate winner and the birth issue as a legal nicetie.

Well,
Yes, it´s difficult to not be jealous of the Czechs because of Ron Paul being within their walls.:)

thanks for posting.
I pledge, do you?
Needs media training
It's a good speech but I suspect the foreign speakers in the audience had a hard time following it, since English is not their first language. Yes, Ron is 72 and has been doing this all his life, but he meanders a bit. He could use a couple of one week media training courses that are available all over the country. They would be able to refine his presentation a bit, making his message easier to understand. I'm sure people like Obama and Hillary take weeks of media training every year.
Register as Republican and Vote for Ron Paul
sorry, but .....
sorry, but that is part of Ron's appeal to me. What you see is what you get. I get all flustered when I have to speak in front of people too. It shows that he's human. He's a human doing the best job he can. I'd rather him meander a bit than to be as polished as Hitler and Hitlerette.
Dr. Ron Paul is the honest stateman who explains it all to those
who will listen and learn. I truly hope this video keeps popping up from time to time. Thank you for a great post!
thanks aaron!
that's awesome.
Great find!

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul
Message from Brussels
Considering that the Czech Republic now holds the EU Presidency (for 6 months) leading to the most crucial European elections of all time next June 2009, this speech is highly significant (at a time when we are battling the infamous Treaty of Lisbon, which seals the EU supranational "federation" for a long time)
Vaclav Klaus will be addressing the European Parliament February 19.
I wish we could somehow invite Ron Paul to the European Parliament...
Thanks for uploading this here, radiofriendly. Ron Paul is loved across the globe and has many supporters in Europe. This is ONE whole campaign for FREEDOM.
Dr. Paul Speaks for the EU Parliament!
Yes, that would be incredible! Who knows?
Wonder if he'll still wear that Texas tie?
