Endorsements?
Submitted by 57chevypreterist on Fri, 11/16/2007 - 22:23I have sent letters to Phyllis Schlafly and Dr. Dobson asking them to prayerfully consider endorsing Dr. Ron Paul as soon as possible.
I'd like to urge those of you reading this to do the same. The two of them wield a lot of clout in the Christian conservative movement.
And for homeschooling families, I plan on writing to Dr. Mike Farris, Chancellor of Patrick Henry College and founder of HSLDA, asking him to do the same.
Can anyone think of some truly conservative "big names" that have yet to endorse anyone?
Maybe Senator Orrin Hatch, who wrote the forward to Cleon Skousen's "The Five Thousand Year Leap" ?

Schlafly
I think she's with Tancredo or Hunter. And, Dobson I think endorsed Fred already.
It's just as well we don't have any heads of religious groups endorsing, because they bring with them a whole other set of problems.
They have actually hurt the campaigns of Rudy, Mitt and Huckabee. The so-called 'religious right' is furious with all of them.
I joined Rush 24/7 to send him an email
I know there is NO WAY he will. He spoke a few months ago how he hoped someone would step up to the plate and bomb Iran before the end of Bush's term, he hoped that "someone in the administration" would see that this happens. I am pretty certain they were his exact words.
So I sent him an email and I told Rush I was very disappointed with him. I wrote him that I thought he was trying to sell me a lemon (anyone but RP) and I didn't like it. That it was a kind of corruption that the only time they get a real conservative, they can't get rid of him fast enough.
I reminded him of an interview he did with Pat Buchanan in 2005 where he told Pat his favorite part of Pat's 1996(?) campaign was when Pat B stood up and said "Rise up to the sound of the guns and do not wait for orders from headquarters" ie, don't wait for the conservative establishment to tell you how to vote. Rush told Pat he loved that bit. How ironic.
I know there is no snowflakes chance in hell he will endorse Ron Paul but at least I want to try and rob him of a clear conscience and hopefully his self respect.
It might be counterproductive to join up and bombard him though. I think people with gigantic egos like him probably don't like to be told off too often. I hope mine was effective as I used his own comments to make him see what a big sham and sellout he is.
I also heard some guy ring up ages ago, maybe 2005 too, and tell him he thought Rush was now bought and paid for by neocons. Rush went off his nut a bit and basically accused him of being an anti-semite, which this guy didn't sound to me like he was. So you have to tread carefully if you do send Rush an email and give him your 2 cents.
"What does conservatism today stand for? It stands for war. It stands for power. It stands for spying, jailing without trial, torture, counterfeiting without limit, and lying from morning to night."
Lew Rockwell
Shlafly is a good bet, eventually.
Phyllis Shlafly has written many times about the weakening of American sovereignty and the push for the North American Union. But even if she privately supports Dr. Paul already, I think as a movement leader she should stay neutral for now. That is because Tancredo and Hunter also are good champions on this issue. Since they are not getting traction, I doubt they'll be in it after New Hampshire. After they are gone, Shlafly can endorse Dr. Paul without weakening her own support.
I can see a couple of other big possibilities. Ann Coulter is in the Duncan Hunter camp right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if she came to Paul after Hunter drops out. Ann gave money to Pat Buchanan back in '96, and Ron Paul is the dream candidate of paleos. Laura Ingraham also has said that she likes Paul, Hunter, and Tancredo. She is a possiblity, but with her national show and hosting duties on Fox, I have a feeling she'll keep any Paul-love to herself.
I doubt Dobson will endorse Ron Paul. More likely is Huckabee. However, should Rudy and Hillary get the nominations and Paul runs 3rd party, then there might be a chance for his endorsement.
guess what Dr ferris has
guess what Dr ferris has indorsed hucklbee!!
I know him personally I wrote him a personal letter asking him

Hutton gibson endorsed Ron Paul He could bring a million
Patriot
Author
WWII Vet
Jeopady Champion
Father of Acadamy Award Winning Director&Hollywood Superstar
Mel Gibson
If somehow Mel Gibson comes out for him. That would blow away that stiff Chuck Norris who endorsed that goof Mke Huckabee
Also he Made the Passion of Christ which millions saw and loved .
Orrin Hatch is a neocon
I live in Utah, and have written Senator Hatch numerous times about war in Iraq and treatment of detainees at Guantanamo Bay. He has responded to me a few times with form letters that lay out his complete support for and belief in the righteousness of the "war on terror" and the Bush administration's handling of it.
Don't expect him to endorse Ron Paul in this universe.
In fact, I suspect a Hatch endorsement of Romney has already been written, and is just waiting for the right time to be made public.
Borin' Orrin
Hatch didn't even speak out against Clinton. Hatch won't speak out against anybody because he really wants to be a Supreme Court Justice, but since he's such a boot-lick everybody just seems him as a reliable lackey.
Ron Paul?
Well at least now Jim may have heard of Ron Paul.
