For several years now...

..I have told my family back in Texas I would return when they once again got serious about sucession. I know that Texans have the resources, history and "grit" to stand strong against the tyranny of the Central Planners. While I was there over Christmas, I didn't see any signs that I would be moving back any time soon. In fact, my family looked at me as if I had lost my mind when I discussed the situation we all face today. To be honest, I love living in Florida now, and don't wish to leave. However I can't think of a safer place to be than Texas when it all hits the fan. I wish Florida had the same type of State first pride that Texans have. I will be watching as things develope. BTW..Texians are Mexican/Texans..What Texans called themselves during and after their War for Independence.

I think there is definitely a secession in our future.
You cant have a country with such dissimilar points of view AND no means for states to set their own rules.
So I see either a states rights model or a breakup of the republic.
Many of us here including myself would move to TX in a second if it seceded. This country is FUBAR and once they kill the dollar the next step is dictatorial fascism.
Socialism is not too far from fascism. If they cant get compliance through bribes and lies, they will get it through force.

It seems to me one of the two possibilities to get rid of the world government ideologies.
The other one is H.R. 2755.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Let's do this!

We need to be working now. 2010 is NOW.

The people are too afraid....

Great ideas but, the people are just too afraid which proves the point that when the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people there is liberty.

What people?

What people? I dare you to tell a Texan to their face that they are afraid of their government. I think most politicians are so disconnected with reality that they commonly mistake fear with anger. Only when the US government completely fails will Texans and all other states regain their sovereignty. Fear has nothing to do with it. Still believing in the benefits of a United States does.

You can take your fear and tell it on the mountain.

I was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso for years. (Remember Mayor Rogers?) I know that many (not all) are indeed fearful of the local, state and federal government. They say "yes, sir" and move on. The L/S/F governments have the good ol' boys in charge.
You should know that there is a big club in Texas, one hand washing the other. (With the exception of Texan Ron Paul). I do however, agree with you that it will take the collapse of the government to regain sovereignty. Not useful to get angry at me. Use your energy to make change in your state.

Has anyone ever attended the Republic of Texas events?

Found here:

What is going on with this?

Why are they called Texians? Does this get us closer to secession?

We are going to find out more info Jan 24th in Fort Worth

They are having a common law court Jan 24th in Fort Worth and a few of my friends plan to attend to get more info. I talked with the Secretary of the State yesterday and they welcome anyone who would like more info. They are building the counties in Texas as the 1830's republic map had them. They need to staff all the county positions, restore sheriff positions, etc. An interesting side note, a buddy of mine is in the credit business and has access to Dunn and Bradstreet. Each Judiciary, Town and State of Texas has a D&B number. Guess what the start date and control date is for the Judiciary courts of the State of Texas...... 1845! Welcome to the Corp State of Texas where you will have an impartial trial by the Corp Judiciary of the State of Texas.

Not Buenos Aires...

...but close enough; Rosario...I'm -pleasantly- surprised to hear there are RP supporters in Argentina!

Greetings from Iowa, where about everyone's snowed in.

You guys

are going to be melting on us real soon!!!

deacky_blue to the DP, hope to see you here more. Thank You

How about Vermont?

I heard Vermont can secede legally, Vermont made sure to put it in when they were the 1st new state to join the Union. Besides, the Ice Cream and Teddy Bears are great. Does anyone know any Ron Paul supporters in Buenos Aires Argentina? We're trying to start a group here.

Lets do it!

SC first, Im in!

This thread was our night dreams

I'm bumpin' so we can have some day dreams too.

Reality Check..............

If Texas were to succeed, it would just be a matter or time before it became a part of Mexico. And in the meantime, they would constantly be defending themselves against attacks from Mexico. Additionally, the US powers that be will NEVER let go of all that oil! Also, it is an important port state and the US will not let that go unprotected.

What makes you think

that there will be a Mexican federal government if the United States government collapses?

"the only thing that keeps the banking system from failing is general ignorance about how the banking system works."

All unfounded opinion---and

All unfounded opinion---and you certainly are overestimating Mexico.

France helped to defeat King George and his troops

In the 18th century there was help from other countries, like German territories and France; there is a rumor that one third of all troops (on both sides) in the war of independance came from German territories. :)
Not to talk about France.

Second, maybe you can assume that other US states would follow sooner than Mexico could make Texas a part of it.

Maybe there is no other way to stop the fractional reserve system and to rebuild the country which honestly is not my one.

Reality Check - Mark 2

The USA federal authorities would take the same attitude now as over the CSA. Winner takes all!

There is not a state in the union that can secede. I reckon Sam Houston could have been let down over his Texas presidency and his proposed alliance with the British. Nobody knows his real motives and desires as he was a wily and manipulative man. So the British may not have been offered an alliance worth much.

The truth is that a Republic of Texas today could flourish and succeed unlike the former. As could California, or the South, or New England. But would it be worth it in the 21st century? I doubt it, but given an opportunity, I wonder which way Texans would vote now. It has been and independent republic for nine years from 1836 to 1846. They would want to be sure of a longer period!

For Free Enterprise NOT Covert Corporatism

Moved, and seconded

Wonder no more, this Texan approves.

Some of this may be true

So LET's Do It Anyway!!!!!

The US may soon find itself in a position where it cannot put down secessionist movements. We may see the Celente-predicted riots in the streets, hyperinflation, and a central government with an ever-decreasing ability to control the American populace.

I also find doubtful the notion that Texas would, upon seceding from the US, remit its newly gained independence to the likes of Mexico. While it is a vast state that could be held by a conventional military force (if holding the unpopulated desert equals holding terrain), Mexico could never fully occupy Texas and would take massive casualties in trying to do so. Any Mexican forces among the Texan population ought to expect to be slaughtered.

While I'm signed on to the Free State Project (www.frestateproject.org) in NH, I might be more likely to emigrate to The Republic of Texas from Virginia.

There can be NO "controls"....

The Conspiracy has not and never will allow there to be any "controls" in their grand sociopolitical experiment called globalization and the New World Order.

For those of you unfamiliar with the scientific method, a control group is a group of subjects that are not subjected to the effects of whatever is being tested. For example when a scientist tests the effectiveness of a drug, he must also keep one group of test subjects free of the drug to allow for comparisons.

The Conspiracy will NOT allow a Republic of Texas to exist precisely because they know that it would be successful.

Today their only advantage is that people can never see what TRUE liberty would look like and how poor our lives are in comparison,

We must never know "what might have been and what will never be".
