I can see 50 percent

I can see 50 percent unemployment in this country...

The article says that:

"When the government issued a $10 billion note just three weeks ago, it bought 20 loaves of bread. That note now can purchase less than half of one loaf. "

It's no wonder that nobody would want to trade their goods or services for Zimbabwe dollars. They reissued their currency in August in lower denominations (probably running out of physical space on the notes in order to print enough zeros), but the zeros have been added again.

Their hyperinflation is now officially estimated at 231 million percent but, since one can hardly trust "official" numbers, I wonder just how high their hyperinflation rate really is.

Zimbabwe, leading the way. Are you listening Benochio? How about the Dalai Bama....do you suppose he's watching?

Do you think this

could REALLY happen here? If it can really happen I wonder HOW SOON?
My guess we would need 80% unemployment like they have.

Yes!

The Fed is planning it right now.

I don't think that any economy is immune from the laws of

economics. Timing? There are many possibilities. In Zimbabwe, people have had enough and increasing numbers are refusing to accept Zimbabwe dollars in trade.

If we would

build an oven out of bricks and get supplies to make bread it might be more valuable than gold or silver.

Good idea Quilty

Got me thinking a brick oven is a must have for the family farm

this is sooo...sad..

Unfortunately...our Treasury, and the Federal Reserve are trying their hardest to do the same to our Country, and they may succeed by the end of 2009, just my guess.

Where can we buy them!

They can't cost much. I'd frame them and sell them for $19.99 each on QVC (plus $6.95 for S&H of course!)

"What have you done for Ron Paul today"?

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking

Some Zimbawe guy with the internet could make what, zillions?

completely insane

did you see 80% unemployment??

Can you picture

80% unemployment in this country. Ugh!
