Another Chance to Influence the Dialogue

0 votes

Thanks to Matt Hawes at the C4L for the following:

From the office of Republican Whip Eric Cantor:

... Eric Cantor has invited top national experts and leaders to testify at a hearing next week to offer innovative ideas and solutions to help revitalize America's economy. The hearing will take place next Thursday at 10am – more details to follow. http://republicanwhip.hou...

In addition, the Whip office has created a page for citizens to leave their comments, concerns and questions they want addressed by the experts at the hearing. http://republicanwhip.house.gov/hearfromyou.htm

We are also encouraging people to submit video responses to a video on YouTube with their concerns, questions and comments. In other words, we are creating a seat at the hearing table for the American People.

Now, this is where we need your help. We want to hear from you, your organization's membership, your colleagues – anyone who wants to weigh in is welcome. We will be using the text and video responses during next week's hearing. This is only a first step, but it is demonstrative of Eric Cantor's commitment to modernizing the way the Republican Party works.

We have an opportunity to influence this hearing just like we impacted the RNC Chairman debate. Check out the links and make your opinions known!

Eric Cantor scares me

“We have allowed our nation to be over taxed and over regulated and overrun by bureaucrats, the founders would be ashamed of us for what we're putting up with.” Ron Paul

AIPAC'S best friend

Remember, it was rumored that Cantor was going to be the potential running mate for McCain. It got laughed off mainly because he's an unknown. Plus, look at his performance during the Bailout. His fellow neocon David Brooks touted him as a "rebel Republican" and was part of the reason why the Bailout failed. That's a joke.

We need to build political strength and political will.

I’m now part of the “Whip Team.” Isn’t that nice?

Why do I feel like I just fell for a gimmick? ;-) […Just kidding – I think.]

I figured year after boring year of education/experience in marketing and communications would come in handy someday.

"Modernizing the way the Republican Party works." ?? BEWARE

Beware fellow patriots. Remember the candidate that represented the "Republican" Party for president in 08? He also said "I need your help", many times. President Bush also has been noted for saying, "We here in Washington are here to help the American People".
There has been no help. Today, capitol hill continues to ignore Ron Paul and those like minded, while having the openings to their pockets and pocket books altered for the large amount of money. And where is this money coming from? Federal Reserve, organizations propped up from bailouts supported by the same individuals saying, "we need your help". Again, trying to deceive all into thinking that they are here to help.
If the neo cons infiltrate the modernization of communication such as the internet, useing video's and texting as they have the msm there definitely will be no help. The help will be more of the same.
I would be totally surprised if Ron Paul like minded thinking gets marginalized during this hearing as Ron Paul did during the debates.
We need to upgrade our fight for freedom. Do not give in to the lies.

It's a trap...don't buy it.

It is not the function of the Federal Government to come up with innovative ideas to revitalize the national economy. To participate in that false premise is doing the work of the enemies of liberty. The function of the Federal Government is to protect our liberty, primarily by honoring oath of office requirements for fidelity to the Constitution. It is not Constitutional for Congress to in any way regulate the economy. Period. It IS a Constitutional mandate that Congress regulate currency backed by gold and silver, but has abrogated that resposibility. Let us NOT empower them to behave unconstitutionally. If anything legitimate is to be discussed, it must be how to restore Constitutional money to this nation. Making sure HR2755 gets out of committee is a good first step. Patriots, don't get sucked into this web of deceit!

How many times have RP supporters heard the words, "We want to hear from you - your opinion matters!" And we all go and leave sincere expressions for Ron Paul and his ideas, only to have them discounted wholesale.

Last year, the Readers' Digest had a poll. We all wrote in. The poll disappeared. Apparently Dr. Paul did too well for them to report.

I don't think HR2755 has a chance; the system is too far gone. I am not saying it's not worth supporting, but we have seen how Congress behaves in the past. They have the Status Quo to maintain (very bad) and Ron Paul and we are not a part of that.

I have no answers. The system is foul.

Let 'em label me a nut, but...

If you have any true hope of saving our nation from the brink of annihilation, you will seek the counsel of Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) and economist Peter Schiff. These two gentlemen predicted the current crisis when everyone was still celebrating the height of the credit/housing/fiat money bubble and they see nothing but disaster if we continue on our inflationary bailout course. If you honor your solemn oath, you will oppose any and all bailouts (corporate, state, city, etc.). Additionally, ending the Federal Reserve (by supporting HR 2755 Federal Reserve Board of Governors Abolition Act) and restoring the Constitutional power to COIN money and regulate the value thereof to the Congress as mandated under Article I, Section 8 would be a tremendous step toward proving to the American people that Congress is not owned by banks and corporations. I am telling you as a fellow American who wants to see our country fixed before her people turn to violence...there isn't much time left.

Too Far Gone

.
Marine, I salute you. You, and your ideas and ideals. But the war has been lost at home. The government has capitulated with the enemy and has been bought and paid for.

You are right about Ron Paul, Peter Schiff and others. They are wise and good men. But, at the moment, they don't stand a chance. The system is too far gone for any meaningful change at this time. It's about as bad a situation as we can imagine. Reason and good sense count for nothing anymore. The FED will not be abolished, despite the sound thinking behind the resolution.

Unless you can figure out a way to mobilize your fellow soldiers and take control of the government, I don't see us winning this one.

Sorry to be negative, but there are just too many corrupt individuals in positions of power. They control everything, including the military.

Watch "Seven Days in May" and see if this stirs you.

they could start but by honestly admitting

that Bush and his team screwed up the economy and U.S. foreign policy, and we need to totally reverse directions toward freedom and constitutional government.

Don't Blame Bush

Of course he is PART of the problem, but the real culpability lies with the Federal Reserve's manipulation of the interest rate and money supply which has facilitated the INSANE spending by Congress.

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
Thomas Jefferson

But wait ! There's more !

.
The Council on Foreign Relations is also a big culprit. It, along with the FED, was created in part by John D. Rockefeller long ago. The CFR is an old boys' network that selects presidents, congressmen and others in high office. Every presidential candidate (including Mr. and Mrs. Obama) were members of the CFR. The only exceptions were Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, and Mike Gravel. They were shown the door pretty quickly.

Bush and his father (and brother) are also members of the CFR, as are Cheney (former president of it), Condi Rice, and most of the members of the administration. It's a nest of vipers, and it goes back decades.

Wrong. Bush wanted the excess money supply and insane spending

so he could pursue his maniacal foreign wars of empire.
If Ron Paul had been president, do you think he'd have sanctioned the Fed continuing to stampede roughshod over the people of America?

"Stimulus packages" do create jobs...

But they destroy MORE jobs than they create.

What we need are more jobs total - which means for the government to keep its hands off and let the private sector sort it out.

Some financial institutions made some bad home loans, turned them into investment instruments with deceptive risk ratings, and started trading them. When the underlying loans went bad the people who made the bad decision to buy or "insure" these instruments, quite properly, took a big financial hit. They risked their assets chasing a profit and lost.

The "bailout" then stole money, future money, and value from the current money, from the rest of the people in the economy to protect these decision makers from the consequences of their bad decisions. Thus the bad decision makers were rewarded while the recession that was localized to one market was turned into a depression that is wrecking the lives of the rest of the population. So the bad economic behavior CONTINUES while the depression spreads and deepens.

Now, having done this ONCE they plan to do it SOME MORE?

Isn't "repeating the same action expecting it to have different results" one definition of "insanity"?

= = = =
"Obama’s Economists: ‘Stimulus’ Has Cost $278,000 per Job."

That means: For each job "created or saved" about five were destroyed.

Stop trying to "do something"

The best stimulus we could have right now is if the government would just stop trying to "do something". They keep messing up the free markets. This Republican hack seemed to indicate he thought a stimulus package would create jobs. What a load of crap.

they need

Peter Schiff to tell them what's up. The irony is the stimulus package is the worst idea. no stimulus package is the best idea. Stop spending money we don't have!

I read in a different post that you think Schiff is a antisemite

you can't have it both ways big guy.

How nice...more smoke and mirrors from the Republicrats.

That video of his made me gag. As if they would ever listen to common sense from the likes of Ron Paul or Austrian economists. I think it's time we face facts here folks, the problems we're facing now are not going to be solved by the same politicians who created them.

Purse Strings

Put Ron Paul over the purse strings of America
Shut down ALL things that are against the CONSTITUTION

Funny how the elites are the ones sinking in this U.S.S. Titanic.

Well...this is an interesting turn of events

I'm in Cantor's district. During the bailout fiasco, I e-mailed and fax'd him dozens of times. I also have his office phone number on speed dial and used it repeatedly during the bailout hearings.

The day he voted the 2nd time for the bailout he helped craft, I called his office and demanded a face-to-face meeting. That was in October. Just last Wednesday, I got a call from one of his staffers. She stated that because constituent response to the bailout was overwhelming, he was inviting 15 people to sit down and talk with him about our concerns with the No Bankster Left Behind bill. I'm one of the invitees. This should be interesting.

I continue to e-mail him at least once a week...sometimes more.

Awesome!

Give this guy hell!
One of my Campaign for Liberty friends and I have a meeting scheduled with Rep. Wittman (R-VA-1). Though he hasn't voted for any bailout, he writes on his website that "Something must be done" and that everything would be fine if only government could come up with the right answers. Let's all show that we are willing to stand up to these criminals, meet them in person, and call them out on their unconstitutional shortcomings.

I promise to do just that.

Awesome

Make sure to tell him about Peter Schiff and Ron Paul.

Register as Republican and Vote for Ron Paul

I've done

that several times in the past.

I just sent him a message thru his Whip website and suggested again that he contact Dr. Paul and Peter Schiff.

This is a good example to follow.

Bailout Boy

I would suggest that anyone who voted for the Bailout legislation should be thrown out of the GOP and start with a clean slate. Yes Mr. Cantor that means your out of a job since you not only supported it but helped draft the legislation.
