Bernanke just dodged a question about Austrian Economics vs the FED and it's existence!

This morning 1/13/09, during a live press conference on CNBC, Bernanke dodged a question about Austrian Economics vs the FED and it's existence!
The questioner asked BB about the course we have been on for the last 90 years, (obviously referring to the existence of the FED) vs. the Austrian model of economics. He asked that considering the problems that are now coming home to roost whether a new way of doing things should be considered.
In his answer, BB changed the topic to focus on capitalism! I hope someone caught this on Youtube.

His voice quivers because he's not adept at public speaking...
and he has been under lots of stress recently. As to the content of his message? I wouldn't say he 'dodged' the question so much as he provided a vague overview of his position on the issue of Austrian Economics; I don't see how you can expect much more of the man than that-- after all he was answering a reporter's question not giving a lecture.
I know some folks around here think Bernanke is the 'Antichrist' but really he isn't an idiot. He knows what he is talking about. He just differers from us philosophically, and therefore comes to different conclusions about the optimum role of Government in the marketplace.
Do not take his opinions or ideas lightly, study them. Understanding his position's will help you refine your own opinions and vastly improve your ability to debate and crush your ideological opponents.

Yeah good point. Where are the videos of Ben Bernanke giving insightful economics lectures? I searched google for video of him. Videos of others talking about him echo the mainstream media. Every video I've seen of the man himself features Mr. Bernanke trying to be as obtuse and vague as possible.

Well I can't think of any good videos off the top of my head...
however if you are partial to reading you can poke around on the Federal Reserve Board Site. Here's a link to the speech he gave on Milton Friedmans 90th just poke around from there and you can find some more junk he's written.
Just so we're clear, I'm not claiming that Bernanke is correct. I'm simply stating that he is not a stupid individual, and that understanding him and his positions would help us to refine our arguments against the FED.

I would like to say thanks to Terry Easton for questioning Bernake at the news conference today about the existence of the FED and whether if after 90 years, we were going in the right direction? Of course BB dodged the question with an evasive answer but we didn't expect anything else.
More and more people are waking up to this unconstitutional instution - the "for profit" FED, and the devastation it has caused during the history of this country.
Thank You Terry and keep it up! The numbers are growing!
