Brief Facts on the Israeli Conflict Today
I did not write this I got it in my email and would like to pass it on but don't know if it actually is the facts. I have heard elsewhere that Israel was never meant to be permanent, only an emergency place for Jews fleeing Europe and that is why the Palestinians are so adamant to remove them. Here it is.
BRIEF FACTS ON THE ISRAELI CONFLICT TODAY....
It makes sense and it's not slanted. Jew and non-Jew -- it doesn't matter.
1. Nationhood and Jerusalem. Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E. Two thousand years before the rise of Islam.
2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel .
3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 B.C.E., the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.
4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 C.E. Lasted no more than 22 years.
5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.
6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.
7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.
8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.
9. Arab and Jewish Refugees: In 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.
10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.
11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.
12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own peoples' lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey.
13. The Arab - Israeli Conflict: The Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.
14. The P.L.O.'s Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.
15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.
16. The U.N. Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.
17. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.
18. The U.N was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.
19. The U.N. Was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.
20. The U.N. Was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like a policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.
What can you do? What will you tell your grandchildren what you did when there was a turning point in Jewish destiny, an opportunity to make a difference?

Moloch's Altar
Nothing, NOTHING can justify the massacre going on in Gaza!!!
Read Motach's Altar :
But of course, in order to smuggle the smallest nugget of truth about Gaza into the American media, it must first be larded with huge dollops of mitigating "context" to mask the horrific brutality and naked aggression of the Israeli campaign. And the "human shield" gambit is the probably the most frequently employed fig leaf by the apologists of oppression.
Curiously enough, I did see a shocking example of the use of human shields in Gaza just the other day, on BBC News. One of their reporters was "embedded" with a squadron of plucky Israeli soldiers as they made their way through a Gaza neighborhood. The report showed our heroes taking over the home of a Palestinian family, shunting the house's large number of refugees -- including several children and infants, crying from hunger -- to a cramped space on the bottom floor, while the Israeli soldiers took up residence on the top floor, where they could rain sniper fire on any nearby "militants" and help coordinate air strikes and missile fire on "militant" hotbeds like schools, ambulances, UN relief trucks -- and other houses packed with refugees who had been directed there by the Israelis themselves.
"Of course the survivors of the current bloodbath will be more vulnerable to recruitment by militants. Like all of the acts of state terror falsely called "counterterrorism," the Israeli attacks will breed much more of the very thing they are purporting to combat. But as we noted the other day, the Israelis know this very well -- and they don't care. As with all the other practitioners of state terror -- in Washington, London, Moscow, and elsewhere -- their goal is not "fighting terrorism" but imposing domination, and perpetuating their militarist power structures.
The international Terror Warriors, and their multitude of sycophants, worship war: it thrills them, it arouses them, it imbues them with a sense of power and purpose and righteousness and superiority. Whatever their professed faith -- and almost all of them make a great show of their devotion to a great benevolent deity in the sky -- their true god is Moloch: earthbound, blood-steeped, ravenous for sacrifice. And his devotees -- our elites, our "leading citizens," our "great and good" -- are happy to obey, eagerly offering up their god's favorite dish -- innocent flesh -- on his blazing altars."

Basically got it right....
..my only critism is that, it's impossible to pray facing Mecca and also have your back to Jersulem in all cases...Other than that...basically get's the history right. "Palestinian" pre 1967 typically refered to Jews (for centurys). There was always a qualifer after the fact if it was intended to men other than Jew..Palestinian Arab, Palestinian Christian, Etc...much like we do today in the US, African American, Asian American, etc.. The under lying mentality being that a "Palestinian" ment Jew unless other wise qualified..Remeber "Palestine' is a region, much like "New England". There are many states in "Palestine" Israel, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan are examples. Prior to 1967 all these people were refered to as some type of "Palestinian" or another. References to the "Nation of Palestine" or the "Palestinian People" are closer to science fiction than historical reality, in todays context. Just more of the propaganda against the Jewish people who began settling there in mass during the "second migration" begining in 1850. The reality is Israel exsisted as a functioning nation prior to 1948, when it was recognised (not created) by the UN. Complete w/ funtioning local Government, security forces and a standing army (which provided it's defense the day after it was recognised by the UN). Follow the history and the facts become easy to understand, but beware of the propaganist who specialise in re-writting the history of the region known as "Palestine". They are every where, even here on the Daily Paul!
How about some relativity?
Sorry for the anger of my earlier post. I've been hearing too much of this crap lately. But, if we are going to continue the basic premise behind your post:
Where do you live Patti C? I'm sure there are some Native Americans that would love to have their land back. Then, you and all the other people who don't believe in their gods can be sent to a huge trailer park, with walls. I'm sure you will be happy and peachy. They do, after all, worship the true dieties and not those fake Biblical ones. And if you piss them off somehow they can just prevent supplies from entering the walls. Perfect.
Ya know - my family came from Bohemia. A beautiful place of artisans and skilled farmers. I think we should be able to get the land back, along with existing houses and businesses, from before the Germans/Prussians kept coming through every ten years killing people and taking our stuff and forcing the men into the Army to kill people they had no quarrel with. Strangely enough, even earlier in our history, when the Moors came through on their way across Europe they left us alone because we never took part in the Crusades. Hmmm.

That is history
Past atrocities don't justify current ones.
So we should
Give back the whole of the Roman empire to the Romans?
This is so flawed that it makes my head spin. Every empire and every nation throughout antiquity must have its nation restored. In accordance with Israeli law.
"10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands
due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms."
BINGO!!
Just one name: Naeim Giladi.
An iraqi jew. A eye witness.
Mr. Giladi couldn't get his book published in Israel (and it is banned in Israel) , and even in the U.S. he discovered he could do so only if he used his own money.
The Giladis, now U.S. citizens, live in New York City. By choice, they no longer hold Israeli citizenship. "I am Iraqi," he told us, "born in Iraq, my culture still Iraqi Arabic, my religion Jewish, my citizenship American."

Check that source carefully.
I can only quickly speak to two of those points with certainty.
>>2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967,
No. The Palestinians were claiming their right to form a country before Israel's creation. They were a British territory when the Balfour Declaration was passed.
>>8. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.
No. Muslims pray facing Mecca. The only way this statement can be true is if the prayer was done while standing on the shortest line-segment drawn between Mecca and Jerusalem.

Frankly my dear....
I couldn't give a rat's a** what happens to Jerusalem.
And despite your insistence that it is not slanted, it is a slanted list since it is only one-sided. Maybe if the Muslims, Jews and Christians realized they all worshiped Brahma, a despicable, evil and violent diety, they could either get together and really cause havoc and destruction - or agree to share.

Just one problem with all this
Most modern Jews are descended from "Khazars".
Khazar Jews are NOT from Palestine; Khazars make up the majority of Israel's and the rest of the world’s Jewish population but are in no way related to Abraham, Isaac, and Moses, therefore they have no historical claim on that land. They share no blood with the ancient Hebrews/Israelites - that's why Yiddish phonetics have nothing to do with Hebrew.
Arabs are way more Semitic than Khazars, making the phrase "anti-Semitic" a complete misnomer. You have to research this to find out how the Khazars took on this identity. This deception is maintained so obstinately because to blow this lie wide open would mean the end of some sort of special privilege/immunity from criticism as "God's Chosen People", and their claim to the land of Palestine. And...what we know as modern-day Judaism would be better described as "Talmudism".
***All Christians must research “Khazars”, “Talmud”, “Kabbalah”***.
