JKap, I'll be honest. After being called a "government disinfo troll" and any number of adjectives I don't particularly enjoy or feel I've deserved, merely for holding arguments counter to your own, I won't be too sad to see you go.
However my feelings are by no matter a reason for you to leave. We've had some absurdly heated arguments, but a lot of them both let us explain points and counter points.
Will my life get easier with you gone? Absolutely, and I might even dodge arthritis posting replies to your threads. That's still no reason to leave for anything except a sabbatical.
You let me know when I first began posting that you haven't heard of me before, that's because I took my sabbatical and just got back. We all need breaks sometime, and I'll welcome you to the battlefield of ideas once you return.

JKAP has recently starting posting this statement to anyone who disagrees with his theories.

Suggesting to anyone who does not agree with his 9/11 theories, that he wants them to kill themselves is a pretty low thing to do. How can you reason with an individual who says such things? His statement is contemptible and shows the type of person he really is.
Misunderstanding
I'll assume you're misunderstanding his point.
I'm taking it as his saying, "You'd better own a firearm, because the government you love and defend one day will be at your door coming for you, and you'll have no way to defend yourself."
The argument is, as normal, a bit pretentious and assumptively decides that you love the government and trust them just because you don't believe they had a hand in certain events which happened in September. It obviously isn't correct, but I always support advocacy of firearm rights.
I do NOT however, believe he means this is him wanting people to kill themselves. As firearms are a stupid way to commit suicide anyways. Too much chance of blowing your face off and surviving.
Of course, I can see where you'd draw that conclusion. I am, however, an optimist in this situation and until further clarified I'll assume it's an error of misunderstanding.
If I'm wrong, it isn't our job to condemn such a person, but to show them through such upright standards of behavior that such things are neither respected nor worthy of a Ron Paul supporter.

If you choose to bail, do so immediately, quietly and with a shred of class. Don't expect any tears, the self-pity is not attractive.
Everyone has been done a grave disservice by allowing the signal-to-noise ratio thus far with threads and issues involving the departed. The posting policies have been lax beyond belief and it makes visiting the DP a chore rather than a pleasure. I only offer up a "good luck" in your future endeavors and a firm hope that the issues that concern peace, freedom and the future of our country will once again occupy our minds and efforts.

We all KNOW who the trolls are. They won't stop and everyone here knows it. Most of them are PAID to be here. Also they're everywhere! I mean the government just announced it! They will keep fighting for the beast, because they are sucking off the very teat of it. They don't understand, that as soon as the beast destroys us, it will eat them too. Legalizeliberty, let me just say that I've always appreciated all you've done and said here. It makes me very sad that you won't be a MOD, and please don't leave altogether. The DP has been a uniting factor for a long time, and it IS sad to see the trolls work, and how they have affected the saturation of the messages on DP. I myself don't quite understand why certain threads are allowed to revolve up and down the Active Forum List ... obviously even if nobody posts on them. I just took it that those topics reflect the opinion of the owner and/or mods, and that they were put on some sort of list to "revolve"? Anyway, I have learned so much from this site in spite of everything. I do miss the way it used to be before so many left or quit posting. I think most/many of them still lurk ...
So my question, how do you filter out the trolls? How do you know who ARE the trolls (except some of them are so obvious). This is the responsibility of the owner (if he so chooses). So either the scope of the forum stays very wide and includes many trolls (becomes eventually mostly trolls) ... or the scope gets narrower and the trolls aren't allowed to saturate the site. If the latter happens, then it becomes obvious what the agenda of the owner is, because trolls who constantly push another agenda won't be allowed to post. If it is the former, it is all less clear because ALL viewpoints are allowed to be said (or regurgitated ad nauseum in the case of paid trolls or unpaid trolls.) I'm all for viewpoints, whatever they are, to be said ... but when it becomes obvious that the motive is just to saturate and congest the site, confuse and distract the site members ...that's when it should stop. Just my opinion.
