Here is a real shock!!! The bankers say they need more money!
New York Times " Banks Are in Need of Even More Bailout Money"
WASHINGTON — Even before word came on Tuesday that Citigroup might split into pieces to shore up its finances, an unpleasant message was moving through Congress and President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team: the banks need more taxpayer money. In all likelihood, a lot more money.
Mr. Obama seems to know it; a week before his swearing-in, he is lobbying Congress to release the other half of the financial industry bailout fund. Democratic leaders in Congress seem to know it, too; they are urging their rank and file to act quickly to release the rescue money. And Ben S. Bernanke, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, certainly knows it.
On Tuesday, Mr. Bernanke publicly made the case that one of the most unpopular and most scorned programs in Washington — the $700 billion bailout program — needs to pour hundreds of billions more into the very banks and financial institutions that already received federal money and caused much of the credit crisis in the first place.

Anybody notice ....
that when the topic of the 2nd installment of the bailout started being talked about, immediately the banks were having so much trouble again according to the news??!! Citigroup, and especially Bank of America newly and suddenly had much poorer health. (Citigroup not so newly.)
I need a bailout.
I bought a mansion for my folks (even though I couldn't even begin to afford it). Now I'm starting to realize I can't pay for this big old house. (How's that for fiction?)

We can focus on the money lenders as the problem but until the whole system is purged their will be no ascension.

Even Worse
Bank of America is looking for a bailout because their acquisition of Merrill Lynch is costing them more than they bargained for.

This is getting beyond ridiculous. The banks get greedy and try to buy out their competition, and when they realize they made a huge mistake, the government rewards their foolish greed by giving them even more money.
When does this all end?
It will end when...
When we finally assert that government sprung from the loins of the sovereign citizens of the states, and thus as its creator, we can retract any power that has been given. The Supreme Court may have declared itself the the law of the land with Marbury, but declaring myself the king of England does not make it so. We the sovereign people of the united states (and yes I meant to use lower case) are the true final arbiter of the Constitution and we need to make our presence felt.
Government should be thoroughly beaten and placed back in its cage.
If I ran my house:
Like they have run their business, I would not have a house. I have had allot of adversity in my life and actually lived below poverty level for many years. I am with the nice poster below. I have raised two children and managed to pay my mortgage, all of my monthly bills, fix what my teenagers got me in to, and never once was I ever late, or had to turn to someone else to bail my foolish butt out of anything. No one in this house of cards ever went without anything they needed, and got plenty of what they didn't. I have been saying for years that they need to let them collapse in to the abyss that they created for themselves never to be seen or heard from again.

Super Majority....
It will take a veto proof majority vot,e to stop the second $350 Billion from going to Treasury. That's the fine print of the original TARP Bill. The second installment is automatic, 15 days after the Executive ask for it. Congress can vote to stop the funds, but the President can simply veto the the stopage and the money moves forward to Treasury. Only a Super Majority can over ride the veto. Anyone think, that is likely to happen ?
You are being facetious, right?
When the answer is a final NO, then it will stop, not until then. Why aren't we all rushing Washington for our share?

I am hopeful
This is the second time around a game that will last for years. They will get their second TARP, and there will be more money needed after that. After such a BS process the first time, which went about as bad as anyone would expect, I am hopeful the American people will grow tired of this BS to the point where they are ready to do something about it. The never-ending bailouts, coupled with the loss of homes and jobs, coupled with ever-increasing taxes and loss of liberty, will begin to take it's toll soon enough.

Keep an eye on Citigroup
If Citigroup is breaking apart to shore up assets, then in the future your more likely to see more banks further consolidating within each other. In the end the taxpayer will foot the bill.

are up 80% by citizens so I guess we could call them bailouts. LOL

Whatever the media reports...
...ain't what is really happening.
We do realize that this 700 billion is only a small percentage of the trillions upon trillions in overnight loans that have been handed out in the past months right? This all will be monetized too; starting after the inauguration... Obama's first test will be the uprising soon to happen. And this would have happened no matter who was "elected".

Me thinks the gig is up
Our corrupt law/policy makers aren't even pretending anymore. They used to have to play the charade game that deficit debt balances would have to be "bought" by foreign governments, such as the bogey man China, but I believe that too, is bull. They don't even pretend to "sell" the debt anymore. Truth be known, there is no debt, only newly created money in the system. Now, they just create the money as a computer entry, send it to the lucky recipient's account number. Maybe I shouldn't use the term "lucky". It takes a great deal of skill and cunning to get your firm well positioned to be first in line at the hog trough. They don't even pretend to account for the money anymore. That's why there is no magic transparancy, there's nothing for you and me to see. They have the power to do it, and send it where they want. They could care less what we think. We keep voting the bums in. Now the game is all about feathering their own nests while they still have the capability in office. They all know that one day a loaf of bread will cost us commoners $5, but so what, they're saving the economy, and making off with plenty of spoils in the process. Our government is rotten to the top, and that's usually when you see divine intervention. Thy Kingdom Comes!

Therefore the soul deceives and despises."

I attempted to read the rest of the NYT article, but I got
an error. They'll want a lot more than the remainder of the $700 Billion. In politics, a bad decision appears to be the best reason for making an even worse future decision.

Conference call from my Congress Representative (NE)
Shock ... got a phone call. Our Rep. from Nebraska (Adrian Smith) was calling his constituents for a conference call ... question and answer call plus polls. With 1400 people on the line, the "in time" poll to a couple of the questions he asked: 1) Was the $700 stimulus effective. Ans - 87% no.
2) Are you for another stimulus. Ans - 89% no.
Also, before I got on the line, evidently he mentioned "A collegue from Texas" in a positive way ... as in dealing with monetary policy. Another caller made reference to this, but didn't say who the collegue was. I'm almost positive it was RP. Adrian's views (which he wasn't shy about stating, unusual from a politician) were very much in line with some of Dr. Paul's positions. So,,,interesting. We may be making more inroads than we think. Would love to know what results those same poll questions would get if asked nationwide. I have a feeling most Americans feel the same way.

what i don't get is...
why would ANYONE believe that banks need money? banks don't need money, they need to be CLOSED!!!!! as i am not an economist, but do have some sense since DP and other information highways, i have to assume that i am not the only american to understand the irony here. banks are for lending? banks are for saving? banks are for SHIT!!! if the very banks that we use to operate our society have failed and are asking US for a LOAN that will NEVER be repaid, why would we want to do that? common sense tells me that if the banks are in this big of a bottomless pit, then BANKRUPTCY is the solution, NOT LOANS from single parents like me with three kids living on 20,0000.00 a year. It is interesting to note that with my annual income, i have no debts but a mortgage which is paid in full and on time monthly as well as the other monthly bills- electric, gas etc. now, if a single mom without a college degree has been doing this for years, how is it that these banks are allowed a "pass" and get loans? why are the americans putting up with this? watch for citibank and jp morgan merger. that is what the rest of the bailout will be used for - exactly what the first part was used for.
