Committees of Safety Meeting This Sunday 1-18-09

UPDATE: The area forecast calls for 2-4" of snow. There are no plans to cancel the meeting, so please plan your time accordingly, especially if you are coming from out of state!

We are looking forward to a very special State meeting Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 3-5pm at the Westport Public Library - 20 Jesup Road-Westport, CT, McManus room,on the lower level.

Dr. Edwin Vieira will be coming up from Virginia to speak and a number of CT State legislators should be in attendance, including a ranking State Senator on the Senate Banking Committee. We have Committee of Safety members from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and other States attending as well. We are asking all Committee of Safety members to develop a rapport with your LOCAL State Representative and State Senator. Encourage them to attend this very important meeting. We will be discussing the unstable, unconstitutional Federal Reserve System and ways to implement a stable, constitutional monetary system in our States.

We should also have the new BostonTeaParty08 DVD's available by then as well as new petitions, slim-jims, and pamphlets. We are developing a template from the Connecticut State Committee of Safety meetings that other States can use to set up their meetings.

The meeting room holds 125 people. We almost filled it, even with the snowstorm! A number of members couldn't make it because they got snowed in. A number of people video taped it. We will be posting it on the COS site soon and Youtube. Dr. Edwin Vieira, as always, did an exceptional job, explaining the the two ancient powers, "The Power of the Purse and the Power of the Sword". We had at least one Ct.State Legislator in attendance and a great response from the audience, with questions. We plan on burning the lecture/meeting on DVDs and sharing it with the other States and members. They can then give these DVDs to their State Legislators and the public. It will be a great Constitutional educational tool!

When you go to the "Sign up" link, you will see all the County and State organizers, listed by States. We have members in almost all the States now, but only the organizer's contact info. are visible to the public. If you want to be an organizer, and don't mind being visible, please sign up as an organizer. If you want to be a member but do not want to be visible, sign up as a member.(Only the national organization of COS and the State organizers in that area will have access to those members.We will not share the members info. with ANYONE else and not abuse the email list).

I think commitees of safety is ingenious and don't know why it's not being talked about a lot more. Ive never contacted a rep. before and wasn't sure exactly who i needed to tell but Yesturday I invited my senator and now I'm going to invite my congressman, from California.

DVDs will be available at meeting

We will be finished with post- production of the DVDs Friday! Then immediately start burning the final cut. It's been a lot of work, but I think everyone will enjoy the 2-disc DVD set. For those who have already ordered we will be shipping them out Tuesday or you can pick them up at the meeting Sunday. Hope to see many of you at the meeting!

We plan on video taping the event and posting it on the homepage of www.CommitteesofSafety.org and Youtube. But you can also bring your small, hand held cameras.
