Atlas Shrugged Is Coming True

I was scanning the internet today and I came across this article on the Wall Street Journal’s Website. The article was titled ‘Atlas Shrugged’: From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years, I don’t normally read the WSJ because the articles in it are fairly liberal, this one however caught my eye because it was Ayn Rand.
The article talks about how Politicians invariably respond to crises — that in most cases they themselves created — by spawning new government programs, laws and regulations. And how these, in turn, generate more havoc and poverty, which inspires the politicians to create more programs .

It's hard for people to take themselves out Galt's character
You'll get a bunch of complaints for witing this. It's much easier to fantasize that Rand was talking about you and me and that we'll be free. Sadly, they watch the story unfold and realize they're not John Galt at all, they're lowly peasants like the rest of us.

I don't see the connection
Ayn Rand was not a witch. She was a philosopher and writer who produced Objectivism. Philip Greenspan may have been a fan of Rand, but she was not a fan of Greenspan. She tells him in, "Letter's of Ayn Rand" , Leonard Peikoff, that, he does not know what capitalism is. Ayn Rand understands that some humans see other humans as commodety, and that artists, creative people, people who think outside the box, beit religious, including wicca, secular or business, these boxes, institutions, fall in Atlas Shrugged because they do not appreciate the power of the creative individual and the need for his freedom and liberty, to think for himself let alone protect himself or save the world.
The Illuminati is another novel by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, like Atlas Shrugged, a sci-fi novel, and while some would not call them such, I suggest you watch the old Twilight Zones and Outer Limits... who were more Rothchilde propegandists than Rand.. As a woman, Rand was an outsider by their order.

Worth the read
It's the worst written but best book I've read in my life. So many good ideas, such poor writing. She needed an editor to reduce that thing by about 50% and it would have been even better. I think she had that War and Peace mentality that "important" books must also be huge.

It's old-fashioned 1950s writing.
I agree that brevity communicates ideas much more effectively. But authors in that era seemed to pride themselves on lengthy paragraphs.
I'm re-reading "Lord of the Rings" now, and Tolkien often delves into those sort of torturous, unending paragraphs. You'd think a book about hobbits, elves, and adventure would be much lighter reading.

I know...
For a long time I was worried that America, and the world, was headed for a 1984 totalitarian hell.....then after I read Atlas I realized that IT was a more realistic version of where we are headed. I still believe that the dark-totalitarianism of 1984 COULD overcome us, but right now....we are living in the world of Dagny Taggert.
Rand was a genius to say the least.
REQUIRED READING
“Atlas Shrugged” should be required reading for every high school student (probably around Junior year). Then when they go out in the world their minds would be right (In a free society).
I read it later in life, so it took longer to get MY mind right.
Now, my mind IS right--mainly because I finally read it.
It lead me to become the Libertarian-minded individual I am. Not the Commie with his hands out like we’re becoming here in Amerika.

Interesting
I am looking forward to the new season of LOST..It's the only show I watch on tv. It's hard to keep up with but they put a lot of Books in the scenes that are significant. Ayn Rand shows up a lot. More and More I watch the series over I believe it mirrors what has and is going on right now in our world.
