The "Born Again American" organization - your thoughts?

I am interested in the thoughts of the forum members. Seems to me like a top down (not grass roots) movement. Not easy to determine what the platform is other than paying attention to government.

I do not believe there are grassroots. The Green party was started by Rockefellers to bring nuclear power to the world. How many Green party members know that? Not many.

I began volunteering for grassroot causes in 1972. I learned allot. By the 90s I learned that there are no grassroots, or maybe I should say, "Behind every grassroot is a monsanto corporation."

You say behind "every" grassroots, and I see no exception noted. I would agree with your statement, but wonder if you really meant it.

I really mean it and for example, the latest greatest grassroots in modern history: Ron Paul 08.

I met dozens of people who had worked previous elections and campaigns, and many, like myself (three Nader campaigns) found it amazing how Ron Paul's hired hands worked to mow down the grassroots. I found myself repeatedly looking around rooms and events at all the enthusiam (talk about hope) I thought, "Man, what Nader could do with a rEVOLution like this.. wow". RE Nader... Nader's "grassroots" PIRGs work because there is an esq. behind everyone of them.

But back to RP 08, where I can give you an example of what I saw happen to grassroots: (I was active in four Meetups) I talked my sister into starting a Meetup group for Ron Paul, and her Meetup group became more popular than the Meetup group manipulated by the Ron Paul campaign regional manager, so the campaign moved to kell her Meetup events and hers was not alone, the biggest example of what happened to her is better known by what the campaign did to the Nashville Ron Paul Meetup. I shudder to this day my mind going back over the threads, the desperate screams for help from grassroots for Ron Paul being mowed down by Ron Paul hires.

What did the campaign do to "kell" your sister's meet-up group?

And I would like anyone else's experience with the Born Again American group. I only listened to the song on their website and it seemed pretty good.

I was having fun, and introduced my sister to Ron Paul. She went to the Ron Paul meetup in Reno. It wasn't long before she was complaining, and one of her complaints had to do with the Meetup groups putting, "The King James Bible is the only true bible"... the reports and watching the Meetup, I encouraged her to start her own, as it appears she was not alone in her thoughts about how the Trehunes and Jeff Greenspan were running the Meetup... so the Great basin patriots were formed, really from the love of Ron Paul.

Meanwhile, I was noticing that noting was going on with any of the meetups in my county or the surrounding counties. None of the republicans were being contacted, even after they contacted the compaign about being delegates. I was traveling a 400 mile loop, with the Meetup in SF, where I would get campaign materials because Greenspan only gave materials to the Reno Meetup...

The Great Basin Patriots came up with some great udeas, like they got a place to show videos and rally for Ron Paul, placed ads... big turnouts, one guy I won't name put up 16 billboards out of his own pocket... Jeff Greenspan did what he could to confuse and create problems.

Meanwhile.. my favorite video was the Nashville Meetup... and it is no longer available because according to the posts.. there was a in fight, and who ever won the Meetup... appeared to "kill it" because Nashville Meetup never did anything as great as that first vid.

These kinds of reports were everywhere,, here on DP, there was argument after argument.

I went to SF, I saw people I know from the medical marijuana industry and those with non-profits.. Ron paul wanted nothing to do with us.. Steve Kubby was going to run for pres, Libertarian party... he was a memeber of my Meetup... he backed Ron Paul... but Ron Paul blew us all.. We had a California Cannabis Hemp and health Innative.. Kucinich took it...

I've worked with Ralph Nader on ballot access for a few elections, and I really thought Ron Paul would be more professional than Nader. Far far from it. I missed Nader in that with Nader you know who your friends are... Ron Paul campaign... you still don't know who your friends are.
