Where does money come from? Where does that $8 trillion come from? Money as Debt explains how banks create money through issuing credit.
Money as Debt poses several questions. Why does the government choose to borrow money at interest from banks when it could create all the interest-free money it needs? Why create money as debt? Why not create money that circulates permanently and doesn't have to be repaid with interest? How can a money system dependent on perpetual growth create a sustainable economy?
