California Revolt?

0 votes

This is just breaking on fox news. The state of California is not going to issue income tax refunds, but rather an IOU! This is going to be a big problem, and if this is finalized??? COuld a revolt in California be BHO's first big test?

E-mail your tax collector whether you can pay IOU..

If you are in CA and have property taxes due April 1, 2009, ask your tax collector if you can pay the tax with the IOU you are receiving from the government.

They can't take your property for several years w/o paying taxes. This stuff however will get attention at the county level and will put pressure back where it should be.

IOU's are bullshit. I guess it's no different than the federal reserve notes in our pockets- there's something to think about.

If an increase in 1% of sales tax statewide wasn't enough...

In Mississippi

You have three years to pay your property taxes, with interest and penalties of course, after that third year your land goes at auction on the court house steps.

Revolt - stop paying your property taxes

I think I could make a good case that since the state did not give me back my money they owe me, I am not paying my property tax.

I think I am going to ask my tax collector why I have to pay my taxes when the state already is keeping my $636 dollar refund right now.

This is absolute bullshit and it must stop.

Heres the video!!!

Thanks to solidRock news http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEe5KzBbKa8 Look's like then had a good turn out!!

California buearcrates are NWO central.

California has been the target of take overs for as long as I can remember. Begining with the missionaries. Currently, with Villagrosa as mayor, and Arnold as governor, we are run by fascist.
The first thing the stimulous money went to, was to add 9,000 more police on the streets to take care of the "gangs" and to add a significant amount of new tax collectors in house, and everyday new restrictions are added to the already 65,000 page tax code.
Enough is enough.
The revolt is here. It just surfaces now and again for different, albeit ignorant reasons (me, me, me syndrom) but the horror is the lack of attention being given to the extinction and poisoning of California and the world's ecologies.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Heads on a Stick

I can't believe there's nothing on here about our tax revolt yesterday in California! The cops estimated over 15,000 people were there to protest and organize recall efforts on all our legislators.

I was there

It was amazing to see that many people that fired up! There were some GREAT signs and costumes, and the crowd spent about three hours chanting "HEADS ON A STICK!", "RECALL ARNOLD!", etc. Something is definitely brewing in SoCal...

thanks for posting that!

We got a good crowd when Ron Paul came, but never could get more than a few dozen people together for anything else. It does my heart good to know that somewhere out there, real Americans are actually gathering in large numbers and complaining.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Head shake

bump for paying bills with IOU's.

Woah

That seems like a really stupid move on California's part. Remember the boil a frog thing? Yeah, this is not slowly boiling.

Do you know who owns Fox News..?

Do you know what they want for you and me?

It is a control device and we try to stay away from such clap here.

Thanks.

Did you see what Fox did to Dr. Paul?

F Fox.

Unify

Paying taxes in IOUs is not a bad idea...

Especially, you Californians, if you filed EXEMPT on your California With holding form until the amount equal to your projected tax refund was met.

What is good for the goose

Wonder how many Californian's will decide to pay their taxes in IOUs.....

MSM finally

picked up on it huh?

Funny...we've been talking about it on DP for nearly 5 days now...

WOA! This is sure to cause

WOA! This is sure to cause problems for many people. There are quite a few who have extra money taken out of their paychecks and use the annual tax refund as some sort of rudimentary annual saving plan, like what some banks have for Christmas clubs, etc.

Sad day for all those in California...

...

Probably not that big a deal for most...

This only affects state income tax returns, not federal - which is where most put that extra money - i do hope for a tax revolt though, something long overdue!

Worth watching. I read a recent article that described the

large numbers of people who were, to use the wording in the article, "fleeing" California, primarily due to economic conditions. As most tended to be middle-class, I can't imagine that the situation would do California's tax collections any good, not to mention the effect on prices of the houses that are left behind. If any such revolt does develop, then I would imagine that the participants in any such revolt would probably be composed of those people most affected by the absence of any refunds that might be due and any potential problems that might be associated with the distribution of state-issued IOUs. Of course, those IOUs, regardless of redeemability, still have to be paid for by taxpayers. It's money, due to individuals, that doesn't (but should) exist in the current state treasury. So the state gives you an IOU (for your own money that it no longer has) and then forces you to send in your money to pay for it. Surely there must be people in California who can see through this sham.

That's rich...

A California IOU for Federal Reserve IOUs' that are redeemable for another worthless IOU. That's 3 times removed from nothing!!!

based on nothing.

The last time I checked, 3 X 0 still equals 0.
