Democrat President Inauguration Day – only one thing seems to have changed

0 votes

The Wall Street Journal today has a piece about Andrew Jackson’s inauguration day and how it resembled a mob invasion of the Washington and it goes briefly over all the state-worshipping pandemonium and ‘hope’, so nothing’s changed there.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123241405445996273.html

It talks about how the White House servants could only get the mobs out by putting quantities of liquor on the front lawn, coaxing people outside before they trashed the place….and how ecstatic everyone was. I have read much better accounts of the day but you get a general idea, with how appalled Jackson himself was, including his climbing out of a White House window to get away from it.

But, guess what? The article neglects to mention the one central thing about Jackson’s campaign……..drumroll….that’s right, he abolished the first central Bank of the United States! (at least they had something to get excited about)

It’s also worth reading up on just how hard it was to abolish that bank. Only a hard and *seriously determined* man like Jackson (not that he was a decent man, read the Indian stories) could do it. So we have to be equally determined. Unfortunately we also have to get people believing they can actually influence the government at all.

Although to be fair I think a huge amount of the jubilation today is down to the fact that George W. Bush is GONE FOR GOOD.
(And the fact that black people are pleased to see the first black President)

I, for one, am happy.

May be a different pilot at the wheel, but disaster is still in the plotted course.

Not All Is Awful

I was given a tidbit to help me swallow todays "Obama" pill ..

Supposedly he has some intention of lifting that stupid travel ban to Cuba that has been in place my whole lifetime.
If true ... hey .. its something anyways.
Almost makes watching the media trip over itself adding even more layers to the already ridiculous myth that they have made "Obama" into.
Perhaps some time in the Cuban sun will place things in better perspective :)

He is going to erase

all boundaries and the US is going to OWN the world with him at the head. So, yah, while I am not against removing the ban to Cuba, I don't trust his motives one inch.

Another thing has changed too

Well, sort of....

We're spending more money to bring the president into office now. You'd think it was a "free mandella" concert or something in D.C. We're heading, if not already in a depression, and have elected a man who is somehow supposed to save us, and here we are spending probably tens of millions of dollars to celebrate someone who only seeks to control us. And to think, they made a stink about the executives we bailed out, throwing a $400,000 get away.

So far the only change I see, is living in more excess, out doing those in the past.

Lincoln

Someone on TV said - I think it was a debate of journalists -, he would have hope because Obama likes Lincoln, and the point with Lincoln was, that his speeches are not much about the slavery issue, but even more about economic issues, and that Lincoln´s economic position - including champion the banks - would be rare today but necessary. I think he was a conservative guy. Especially I recognized his mention of "champion the bank", and I remembered to have learned from a youtube video that Lincoln wanted to get rid of the private central bank with the help of the Russian Czar

Some Ron Paul

people from early on are celebrating now that Obama is in. They want no part of talking about Obama's faults. It is all about wait and see and give him a chance. They cannot see the birth certificate, the cabinet choices, the bailout, the hypnosis, the secrecy about school records, amnesty, taxation, military recruiting--non of this is making any difference--they still say wait and see. And they voted Ron Paul in the primary. Sometimes the truth really does hurt. This shocks me.

Like I have

stated before on DP. Alot of so called RP supporters still don't have a clue and are blinded by their emotions in seeing GW out of office.

Yes

There may be a few good things come out of these next 4 years but we have to stay alert and keep our eyes on the ball.
We may be the only sane people left in this country.

I heard this the other day and with Obama coming into office, probably illegally, it seems appropos: "even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in awhile."

Alpacas - IT'S DOABLE

i'm not falling for it

The ideas Ron Paul taught me, won't allow me to believe in someone like Obama. While we may or may not ever get a chance to have Ron run again, I'm too awake now because of him to ever vote, or support the Obama's of the world.

While I can say that I do hope Obama does a good job, that he does things right ,that he proves us wrong (I don't think he will), I'm still not going to support him just because he ends up doing 1 thing that's right eventually. That's where people go wrong. He does 1 thing right, and they say look.. he's trying to do good so we have to overlook all his other faults.

Yeah i totally agree- Obama has the pedigree of the cliche

crooked politician. He's the ultimate Trojan horse. On the bright side im near orgasmic that Bush is GONE. Obama will likely continue the same agenda- but I personally cant stomach even ONE more soundbite from Bush. And plus- it will be fun to watch Obama squirm when people start pushing him to investigate Bush's admitted war crimes- when he refuses and congress bottlenecks- ALOT of people will start to wake up that theyve been had. The poor will start robbing grocery stores and tell the shopkeepers "Let's look forward".

It doesn't shock me

There are trolls and idiots everywhere. Let them be happy. Soon the beast will eat them too.

:-) Man! I was in the neighborhood grocery store yesterday…

The TV was on in the dining area. I couldn't believe all euphoric Obama worshipers taking place in the "pre-inauguration" fanfare…a bunch of empty-headed morons trying to get every possible Obama essence.

Obama has apparently been spending millions on some serious personal hero worship too. What a sicko!
