I won't use plastic bags at supermarket--whatever. I need them to clean the litter box (if you have an ancient hyper-thyroid, kidney-diseased kitty, you understand).

Some pledges---like being more civil to strangers--would actually help the world become a better place.

But when Demi Moore said she pledged to be Obama's servant, I threw up a little in my mouth.

While everything pledged (except maybe the BM reference) during that video was nice, two things about it bothered me:
1. Why are they doing it for Obama, instead of doing it for their Country?
2. Why didn't they feel this way say 6 months ago, or a year ago, or two years ago, et cetera??

They just think they're supposed to feel that way. It seems like deep down they're all hoping BO will come give them a pat on the back. It makes me sad. I have done so much community service in my life because it IS good to do, but I'll tell you what---I'm done. I will not do any more because I don't want people thinking I'm doing it to serve BO.
