Quick! Hide Your Ron Paul Dollars

Simon Constable is a staff reporter at the Street.com. This past summer, he did a few pieces on Ron Paul that were borderline favorable. However, when the Silver Liberty dollars bearing Ron Paul's likeness were released, he did a mocking piece where he went around trying to spend his $20 silver Ron Paul Liberty Dollar on the streets of Manhattan. There were no takers. I was not impressed.

Luckily he's still got that $20 silver piece, because it is now worth over $200 on Ebay. This is his latest video piece in which he explains the raid , but leaves off with "I don't think we're getting the whole story..."

This video is an interesting piece. It is again tongue-in-cheek with the music, but the humorous take on living in a police state can (and might) evaporate very quickly. The Liberty dollar story will be very revealing in time...Full story here.

Turn US dollars into Ron Paul dollars

Since the Feds have declared war on the Ron Paul dollar, maybe Ron Paul supporters should declare war on the U.S. dollar. Wouldn't it be great if every Ron Paul supporter desecrated the U.S. currency by writing www.ronpaul2008.com on Federal Reserve notes? What a wonderfully subversive way to get Ron Paul's message into the hands of the masses and express our contempt at the government's rapidly-depreciating fiat money.

John Wayne

Whats next? Are they going to go after the John Wayne coins now? Only in America.

I think it would be a great

I think it would be a great idea to turn this into an opportunity to help Ron Paul's campaign.
Anyone who has Ron Paul silver dollars could sell them on eBay and donate the proceeds to his campaign.
The Feds have given us a money making "golden goose" opportunity to show the power of the free market and the desire to have both Ron Paul and silver money.
I have a silver liberty dollar and a few silver certificates, if I can sell them for Ron Paul's campaign and make a small original investment multiply many times, and then turn around and use it against the establishment, it will make me proud!

The constitution

I think we are missing the boat here. We are currently living outside of the Constitution in as far as our current monetary situation. Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution: "No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts"

Just for emphases "...make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts." U.S., debt backed fiat currency is not what the founders were talking about. The reason that gold and silver was selected as "Money" was that it was less likely to be manipulated by the powerful to enslave the weak. You get it...a level playing field.

Let's not forget that the Dollar came for the Thaler a coin (privately) minted from the silver from a rich mine at Joachimsthal - Jáchymov (St. Joachim's Valley) in Bohemia. The coins were valued for their purity and uniform weight. It was the superior coin and so, it became the accepted common commodity of trade here in the United States. The Thaler became the Dollar. Yes, a privately minted coin was our forefathers coin of choice. And why shouldn't it have been?

This is about choice. Yes, I am a little pissed that I didn't get my Ron Paul gold round. Yes, I wanted to get a bunch of the copper Ron Paul rounds and give them to friends and family, but there is a much bigger problem here. It is a problem of choice in our money and the seemingly limitless power of the government to manipulate, intimidate, seize property of, and in the end destroy the individual. That is not "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness"

TAX BOMB...... BOOM!

The response has been explosive! It's fun, easy and fast.

The Street

You have to understand the peer pressure on someone like Simon Constable and TheStreet. Their finances depend on NOT offending either side of a problem. Ron Paul is a decent man, and should not have to answer to whatever his supporters happen to do to support him, over which he has absolutely no control.

They say we overpaid for the Ron Paul silver dollars. Give me a break, we are not that stupid. Yes, $131 for 1000ml of distilled water and salt for IV fluid is overpaying, with no choice in the matter. $5 to Ron Paul, $5 for design and manufacturing, and $15 [at the time] spot price for silver, for a souvenir of Ron Paul's attempt to help keep us out of economic slavery, is a fair trade in my book. If you don't agree, that's your right. OK by me

The actions of the FBI and others show me that our USS Titantic allows no one lifeboats. Almost all of us are third-rate passengers being locked down in the hold. The pensions will be worthless, the Social Security payments will be worthless, and your life will be worthless, all because organized religion, organized education, and our government have destroyed our natural self-defense of mind, body and soul.

This raid on Liberty Dollar, who harmed absolutely no one, bears this out. A whole slew of lifeboats were stolen by the Man who rules by decree [signing statements] and all the professionals can do is wisecrack about it. Perhaps we deserve the cleansing. Lord knows I've done everything I can to keep our freedoms.

I'm glad the Main Steam Media is watching.

I thank TheStreet and Simon Constable for their work. I support the United States of America and our economy, our way of life, and our freedom it brings.

The longer this remains in the media the better. To me it's obvious they are traded as collectibles, watch Ebay.

The people that bought them overpaid for the value with the current price of the metal vs the U.S. dollars. They became worth more by the raid.

The court of public opinion at work.
