I thought Obama

messed up the words, but this article says Roberts flubbed the words??

So this was done in private, huh!

Roberts said, "President to the United States"

and Obama gave him a chance to fix it (or awkward silence) and then they kind of talked over each other. It's good to watch this stuff live or on c-span because then you (in the general sense) don't have to trust articles.

this is good news.

sitting in the drivers seat is different than talking about sitting in the drivers seat. this is a good sign.

OMG!!!

So we didn't technically didn't have a president for a day?? How did we ever survive?!! But really, it's kinda funny that the oath didn't "take" the first time....probably cause he wasn't born here :)

"just to be on the safe side" ???? Is it possible that it

would make any difference?

1. He will violate the oath repeatedly, as any other president in recent memory has done. The same could be said for most members of Congress, as well as the courts.
2. Given the output of the court, of which Roberts is the chief justice, such solicitous concern on his part, for meticulous adherence to the U.S. Constitution, strikes me as amusing. I wish they could prepare a list of government officials (elected or otherwise) who strictly adhere to their oath. Talk about light reading.

Oh well, I guess it's useful to keep up appearances. Perceptions afterall seem to continue to triumph over reality.

You can't have the people

thinking the constitution is dead, it might cause a revolt. It's been dead since it's inception. A piece of paper does not give you're rights! Especially one you did not sign!

Good.

I figured he would. I think they should have had a "do-over" on the spot, but at least it's official (kinda).
