Obama has signed an executive order today to close the Guantanamo Bay Prison within one year of today.
Also suprisingly, he actually mentioned the US Constitution !
What the hell is going on here??
Watch the video of the signing here:

This is a ruse. Closing
This is a ruse. Closing Guantanamo sends a deceptive message to his supporters and the world that he is keeping his promise. However, what of the prisoners that are being held without trial or conviction (because there is not enough evidence to convict)? They are not being freed, merely moved to a new location. Closing Gitmo changes nothing, it is only eyewash.
Hogwash is more like it...
I'm sure our wise and benevolent leaders are still abiding circle-jerks, banana's up the rear and sicking the dogs on liberated Muslims and Arabs the world over thanks to the official religious 9/11 Myth. Anything goes in the name of "protecting" America.

Amen JKAP!
"All great truths begin as blasphemies."
"Human beings with love and compassion are some of the most beautiful creatures in the universe... Those without are a plague on us all."
Close Gitmo to great pageantry...
..and open a new, secret detainment camp somewhere else.
That's the problem with 'leading by executive order'.
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

What's going on, you ask?
Here you go, it's simple.
To conservative republicans, democrats suck. He's trying to endear himself to them right out of the gate to gain influence since a lot of the GOP became overwhelmingly sick of Bush.
To the vast majority of the world itself, Bush is the epitome of disgusting and everyone wants his head on a pike by morning. He has to placate all of them in order to have any shred of credibility in the international community.
To the US, over half of the populace looks at him as if God just landed and resurrected Elvis. This love affair will only last so long, so he had better deliver or his support base will turn on him like a rabid dog. The other half of the populace voted against the GOP to begin with because of Bush, and they aren't too thrilled with a liberal as the least abusive husband.
Then there is us- the obscure minority (or 3rd parties in general) collecting dust in the corner who, though typically informed, have nothing in the way of teeth but can at least see through the disguise. The only way to get us to question things outside the knee-jerk conspiracy theory bubble or whatever euphemisms people are throwing around now, is by doing the unexpected and get us squabbling. This may just be a side benefit for the establishment though.
My advice: stay the course and don't worry about the crap he's doing to make the plebs happy- this should be expected. The marriage will be annulled by summer I imagine. Maybe sooner come tax time; we'll see what is up his sleeve soon enough.
