American Cry Babies Can't Take The Pain...
Submitted by Prairiemae on Sat, 01/24/2009 - 01:33My 97 year old great uncle recently wrote a letter to his family and friends comparing today's troubles to that of the Great Depression. He was in the poor class at the time and at the bottom he begged house to house for food. Today he contracts with the military and has invented and developed various military items and has made a name for himself.
He attributes his success to living through the tough times so he could be grateful for what he had. Those tough times inspired him to work hard and be the success that he is today. He is sure it is just the kind of medicine America needs again today and I agree.
Can Americans handle another depression? I think we can. We are not afraid. We will help each other get through it and we will survive and come out stronger and better than before - IF we
are allowed to go through those tough times.
What we don't need is a government that tries to protect us from any hurt. Children who are coddled end up paying for it later in life because they can't handle the pains that life brings. Is that what we want the American people to be? A mass of whiny babies who can't take care of themselves and need the government to "save" them from every pain in their life? We are not a socialist democracy. We are the Republic of The United States of America. We can take it and we can come away stronger for it. If you agree, tell your congress members that you are not afraid, they need to know.
Demand your congress members to oppose the stimulus bill.
Demand your congress member to cut our taxes.
Demand your congress member spend less.
If they don't listen, grab your pitch forks.

Mike's right. Petitioning the government for a redress of
grievances has proven non-responsive for a decade. Take the next step and become a delegate for your state. Go to: http://www.wethepeoplefoundation.org/

I love the story. The punchline sucks.
You better just RUN for congress. Encouraging has not proven to be very effective.

Amen
Again and again and again.
Run for office. If you really want to change and can devote the time, run for office, ANY office, just make a name for yourself as a fair dealer.

What do you suggest?
I don't see "the masses" taking to the streets on this one. Isn't that the idea, educate and motivate people to action? If we talk to our reps. and they don't listen then we can act. We can't just assume they will not listen. Warn them and then take action in public protests (non-violent of course). If we don't get what we want then we take action.

I seriously suggest running for congress
And constant pressure that does nothing is better than no pressure at all. I don't mean to take away from what you're saying, but the last 20 years or so of doing that has started frustrating me lately. I think we all need to run for office or start a class or something we would have never done before. Personal courage and brutal honesty is all that will defeat the elite's plan for global enslavement.

You are absolutely right. Point taken.

Encourage!
Encourage! What? A den of vipers? Do snakes listen? By encouraging you give continuance to the lie. By continuing the lie, you only ensure our children will be destitute endentured servants/slaves of tyrants and elitists and possibly something much worse. If you keep selling your elixors and poison slave mentalities, our children will be completely devoid of the notion of freedom. The government is the opposite of freedom! Like a cancer, it's become terminal! Keep your snake oil for the snakes.
Please don't insult snakes.
They do help keep the rodent population down.
Undo what Wilson did
"The price of liberty is ...
eternal vigilance." We can't forget that people do change their minds. Let's not discourage people who will pick up where so many of us just give up. It's like passing the baton to the next runner with the fresh legs. Eventually they will make a difference and everyone will have played a part in it.
Another way of looking at it: "Lead me, follow me, or get out of my way!"
Thank you.
Thank you yogamama. :-) People are often repelled by negativity. They tune out. Your congress rep. will soon tune you out if you are spouting hatred to them everyday. Sometimes persuasion is a better tool. If that doesn't work then, yes, take to the streets with your pitch forks, by all means.
