Obomba's new advisor states that we will be in Afghanistan for more than 14 years! ("truth must be told to Americans")

Noticed this this in Justin Raimondo's 1.26.09 article entitled Obama's Vietnam.

Richard Holbrooke, the special representative to Pakistan and Afghanistan appointed by Obama, stated in pre-election piece in Foreign Affairs magazine:

"The situation in Afghanistan is far from hopeless. But as the war enters its eighth year, Americans should be told the truth: it will last a long time – longer than the United States' longest war to date, the 14-year conflict (1961-75) in Vietnam."

Hey! Great minds run the same channel!

Just before getting on this site, I sent a link to that article to 21 different e-mail addresses (eight of the addresses belonged to key people within national media outlets. I'm glad to see that somebody else is awake too. ;-)

Jeez

Why? Spending that much time there means we're fighting *more than one generation* of so called terrorists. Does this fact elude Holbrook?

Their minds are pretty much gone.

The maniacal creeps have been about the dirty business of playing war for so long that reality escapes them—they actually think themselves above the antiquated REALITY schools of thought. That happens to educated morons who love money and power. To the neoconservative, death; destruction; and waste—no matter how horrible and sickening—are merely byproducts of the almighty agenda.

I’ve been up against all this garbage since the 1970s (I was in my teens then). Emotionally, it never gets easier, that’s for sure! But things are indeed looking up.

Yes...

I believe these neo-con people are so isolated from any debate of their beliefs. They don't use logic. Rather they base the truth of falsity of something on their gut reaction.

You hit ’er on the nose.

I don’t think I could even add anything to that! You summed it up well!
