I guess you can stop now....

It passed.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

If something is bad...don't do it!

I am so tired of people trying to rationalize doing bad things like this "stimulis plan"( aka the "stymie-us" plan) When did doing a bad thing like spending money you don't have, become a good thing? Doing the right thing hurts sometimes, but shooting ourselves in the foot isnt the solution. How long are people going to keep lending us money, and keep accepting our monopoly money? I really wonder if "America" is too big to collapse. Without a healthy America the rest of the world is screwed, so why wouldn't they keep bailing us out? I suspect a new world currency will be here soon, not too sure about any Amero anytime soon.

The dems

are flushing the toilet full dollars. The pipes lead directly from our wallets to their accounts.

What is the bill number?

Anyone know?

Another $800 billion down

Another $800 billion down the toilet.

The Dems passed it!!

NO Republicans voted for it and only 12 dems voted against it. HOW is this pork spending bill going to stimulate anything?

Is

Is it really at two trillion? I know the FED gives money away everyday, but as far as money legislated. It's at two trillion now from 825 million? seriously?

yeah

is it really?
people aren't furious?!
No riots?!

What motivates me is:

THE 545 PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR AMERICA'S WOES

BY CHARLEY REESE

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy.

Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of the 300 million - are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton- picking thing.

I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

A CONFIDENCE CONSPIRACY

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a SPEAKER, who stood up and criticized G.W. BUSH for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.

Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow Democrats, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto.

REPLACE THE SCOUNDRELS

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can't think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red. If the Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ.

There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exist disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation" or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses - provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees. We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess

Be the Miracle!

thanks for that article

So far, the CNN poll is showing 60% support for this

monster. Yuck.

Yes, but they lie

CNN is renowned for telling only a fraction of the truth, in order to guide public opinion.

Take these results with an ounce of salt, wait for it to be confirmed by two separate sources before believing it (that the majority of Americans support this) !

It's not a "bailout" package.

It's a HUGE pork spending bill being "marketed" as the only way to salvage our sinking ship of a country. Can anyone show me even ONE item in there that will create even a SINGLE job?

Don't forget this part !!!

"I expect (him/her) to remember to vote "no" for this piece of legislation, NO MATTER WHAT, UNDER ANY AND ALL CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER."

Does anyone else feel that

Does anyone else feel that this time around it’s a lost cause. I think America is too far down and it’s too late to save them now. I think this bailout is pretty positively going to pass. I feel like Americans are so desperate to get the economy better that they dont care what the repercussions of this bailout are. They are ready lay back and accept a socialist society where Barack Obama is just going to "take care of everyone. Of coarse I will never think like this cause I know what our country was founded on but I just feel its beginning to become a lost cause. Just whats on my mind I dont know.

It doesn't matter what the

It doesn't matter what the majority of Americans think. All that matters it who is in power and who is politically active. Let it not be said that we did nothing.

I'm in the same boat

Unlike the last bailout where it seemed like we at least had a fighting chance of making a difference, it's pretty obvious that this one is going to pass.

I haven't bothered contacting my Congressional reps. My Senators enthusiastically voted for the bailout the last time around and I know they'll do the same again. My Representative, who also supports bailouts, has run unopposed in the last two terms so threats to vote against him are completely meaningless. I just don't see the point of trying at this point; that's pathetic, defeatist, and I hate admitting that, but it's the cold hard truth. I expended a ton of energy contacting them during the last bailout fiasco, but I just don't have the fight in me for this one.

Good luck to DPers who might have a better shot of influencing their Congressional reps.

It's so nice having a congressman that votes just like Ron Paul

I've emailed my

senators and congressman

I would start your Committees of...

Safety group http://www.committeesofsafety.org/ like we have here in NH. No matter how many calls go into the brain dead in DC it won't matter, so gear up & prepare cause the welfare of your family is at stake!

Good call. We need to get the ball rolling in WA State.

Ron Paul is my President.

Ron Paul is my President.

Last night

I sent off a letter. I know we need to do this and some of us spent hours for days on this back in the fall.

But honestly, the Dr. is right. Look what happened when the "lawmakers" said no a few weeks ago. . . President Bush just overrode their decision. So the Dr. is right . . . Congress is irrelevant. If they vote the way the president wants, everything is cool. If not, well, the administration can fix that, can't they? So shut down Congress and use all that money to fund their rescues (I know it isn't enough!).

If we are going to win this it must happen at the neighborhood level. The precinct level. We have 14 months to have more PCOs than they do and the PCOs decide who is in charge in the party. The cure for top down is change from the bottom up.

My precinct is for Ron Paul!
