Why is the media giving more airtime to Ron Paul and Peter Schiff?

I read this great article at LewRockwell.com: http://www.lewrockwell.com/sardi/sardi104.html

It talks about government propagandists working for mainstream news agencies. It makes sense consider what we've seen happen to Ron Paul during the presidential election. But what about now? Ron Paul and Peter Schiff have been all over the news. Why would the mainstream media and possibly government propagandists have Ron Paul on all the time now?

Here are some thoughts (and please share your own):
1. The MSM/government propagandists see Ron Paul as a "useful idiot" that they can use to get Republicans back into the good graces of the American people and win the next election. (Also note that when Ron Paul is on, he only talks about the free market. The thing that Republicans and RP Republicans can agree on 100%).

2. The MSM needs to make some money, so they are willing to give Ron Paul and Peter Schiff time slots because we will watch. And even though we are only 5% of the population, that's more viewers and more profit in ad revenue.

3. The MSM/government are feeling the pressure from our numbers and are throwing us a bone to keep the peace.

They are no longer threatened by them

They have their puppet government {OBAMA) just the way they want it so now they can listen to intelligence without having to worry about it actually making a difference.

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !

SAD BUT PROBABLY TRUE

The only thing that may work in our favor is if the SHTF so bad there is a complete collapse, we will already have logical and intelligent people who will have been heard and perhaps be revered as prophets when everyone is looking for the new messiah!

All hail Peter, Jim Roberts and Ron. May the SHTF!

I think it's a little bit of all three.

I do think if he had left the GOP again and run Libertarian, there would still be a "news blackout" on him.

Still, his fame is increasing, and that's good.

It's also quite possible that the corporate media is interested because it's often about investing money. I.e., they see Ron Paul and Peter Schiff as "stories of interest" because they follow their advice personally on investment.

There would be a news "blackout" on

anyone that runs on the Libertarian Party. Everyone knows that a Libertarian has almost zero chance of winning, so anyone that runs in that party pretty much makes himself irrelevant.

I think it's an issue of who's running on said party ticket.

Harry Browne--great guy, not electable.

Michael Badnarik--a complete unknown.

Bob Barr--a boring and somewhat repulsive GOP refugee.

Sure, and ultimately it comes down to polling.

It has to be someone that can interest and relate to enough people to poll high enough to be relevant.

Dr. Paul unfortunately is not electable, in my opinion, because his views are too radical, such as abolition of the minimum wage, abolition of antitrust laws, abolition of the Federal Reserve, closing down all military bases around the world, abolishing all income tax, phasing out the welfare state, legalizing all drugs, abolishing the SEC and all other preemptive regulations on business, abolishing the FDA, opposing licensing requirements for doctors, abolishing the FBI, abolishing the CIA, opposing the Civil Rights Act and legalizing racial discrimination in the private sector, etc. All these things taken together make him unelectable at the presidential level. Dr. Paul's role is always going to be confined to being an educator and influencer.

4. Inciting a Revolt

Whereby Paul and Shiff are their uncomplicit tools. I don't know how many times I've read that a Revolution is what they want. Our own Mr. Lawson has stated this over and over again.

"There can be only one permanent revolution - a moral one: The regeneration of the inner man."
—Tolstoy

"The body is but a vessel for the soul,
A puppet which bends to the soul's tyranny.
And lo, the body is not eternal,
For it must feed on the flesh of others,
Lest it return to the dust whence it came.
Therefore the soul deceives and despises."

Yep

I love

Fortune Favors the Bold

and agree with that tolstoy quotes

Fortune Favors the Bold

They are using them

Listen to the questions and then listen to the talking heads rebuttal to Dr. Paul and Peter Schiff. They kept asking Dr. Paul what he would do NOW and about NOT going BACKWARDS. That it was to late to do what Dr. Paul suggested. They are trying to paint Dr. Paul as NOT having any SOLUTIONS. That things are so desperate that the government HAS to do SOMETHING. Peter Schiff they are trying to box him in, that he is WRONG and is TO pessimistic.

This is what I am hearing when I watch. I think the rulers want to have the Fed and the banks nationalized so when the country is bankrupt like Iceland the IMF will be there to offer funds to stay afloat. This naturally is the rulers plan all along. IMF global bank and currency coming.

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

They were also trying to make the point

that the future is painful no matter who tries to correct it. That there is no unpainful way out of this. So give ol' Obama a chance, is what they were saying. Saying Ron Paul has no solution that is going to keep the bad things from happening.

nice analysis.

nice analysis.

I think the old media wants

I think the old media wants to perpetuate fear and Ron and Peter can make alot of people fearful if they're asleep and don't understand their principles. It keeps people confused and the Old Media is obviously not afraid of their opinions creating solutions or they would not be on there. I can't see why the old media would throw RP people a bone they didn't need to before.

#2. Capitalism. (Also a false premise that many have)

There's no conspiracy beyond that. Whoever they can bring on that will entice viewers in the market segment they're targetting to watch, they will put on because that brings in advertising dollars.

I'd like to point out that it is NOT a recent phenomenon that Ron Paul has been on Fox Business Channel a lot. It started back in October of 2007 and hasn't let up yet, as you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLdMHUcpW-g

The claims that Paul was ignored before, but not anymore, just don't hold water. That's simply a mythology that has developed, as evidenced by looking up the myriad of interviews and news stories available on YouTube from during the campaign.
