Bill calls for execution by firing squad
One state lawmaker is proposing a bill to expand the death penalty and force people convicted of homicide to face execution by a five-officer firing squad.
New Hampshire State Rep Delmar Burridge, D-Keene, is sponsoring H.B. 37, a bill providing for execution by firing squad for anyone who causes the death of another person by use of a firearm while engaged in the commission of a felony – an offense that would be considered capital murder under Burridge's plan.
According to the bill, the commissioner of the department of corrections will be required to select five peace officers to carry out the execution of defendants convicted of capital murder.
"The commissioner or designee shall ensure that the method of judgment of death specified in the warrant is carried out at a secure correctional facility operated by the department at an hour determined by the department on the date specified in the warrant," it states.
Current law includes murder of judges, law enforcement personnel, murder for hire, some drug-related homicides and rape-murders as capital offenses, but Burridge is seeking to add homicide during an armed robbery, or other felonies committed with a weapon, to the list – excluding such criminals from the standard death by lethal injection.
"A firing squad is more humane, reliable and quick. And perfectly matches the crime with the punishment," Burridge said last week.

Life is an unalienable right. Therefore, in all capital crimes
the punishment should be irrevocable life imprisonment. By this I mean solitary confinement with only spiritual books available. Daylight and darkness should follow those of latitudes north of the arctic circle. All expenses would be paid by family and/or churches as in the past; not the public. In this way the person incarcerated has the opportunity to check out at a higher level of consciousness without others incurring additional karma.

Well, I thought I'd ask, seen as though we seem to be regressing back to medieval times :-) Only problem is, I'd be challenging a politician every day.

Capital Punishment Unconstitutional?
If all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, among those being LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, then it goes to follow that not even the state can take your life. They can lock you up forever but your natural God given right to life is inalienable which means it can't be taken from you except by God. If the state has the right to take your life then that means your rights come from the state and not your creator. If you agree with capital punishment then you agree that the state has the right to take away your God given rights and puts the state on an equal basis with God. In fact governments are instituted amongst men to protect these rights.
As lovers of liberty we should be against capital punishment on this basis. I'm not saying murderers should be getting off easy, I'm saying the state is not God and has no authority to execute criminals. The state has a responsibility to keep its citizens safe and locking up murderers for life fulfills their responsibility.
My God says
murderers and rapists should get capital punishment. Murder means to lie in wait. It does not mean accidental death, self-defense, crimes of passion, or military service.
For these murderers and rapists it is a LIFESTYLE, not a once in a lifetime occurance. They have no respect for life and cannot see past their own selfish desires...this lifestyle will not end until they die.
My God states in His word that murderers and rapists will not be forgiven while in their flesh bodies. They must return to the Father (soul/spirit) and face their Creator and their accuser.
The world would be a much safer place if "would be" murderers had death by firing squad hanging over their heads. Maybe they would try to make an honest living instead. Why should the tax payer have to support them in these miserable prisons for the rest of their natural life?. Talk about inhumane treatment (prison), the firing squad is more humane for the victims families, the tax payers, and even the murderer/rapist.

possibly, these murderers and rapists have a mental condition. Or grew up in horrible circumstances, which led them to be murderers and rapists. One of my roles as a civilized human being is to help others. These murderers and rapists need help. If it is wrong to kill one another, then why is it okay to kill a killer? He is a human being (which maybe your God created?). I’d rather have my taxpaying money go to correctional facilities helping these murderers and rapists. Killing is so inhumane, and uncompassionate..doesn’t matter who you kill. But maybe your God lacks compassion…

i dont approve. The system has become too corrupt. The state can now withhold pretty much any info that would deter them from keeping their conviction rate. Thats all prosecutors care about is that fu*kin conviction rate. right or wrong doesnt matter. Thats why we send innocent men to prison or the chair. They dont care.

Because the percentage of
wrongfully convicted citizens is quite high. I am more worried about she becoming one of the wrongfully accused than she becoming a victim of one.
You must realize this is a stepping stone to murdering a bread thief on the town square. Or murdering a dissident, hanging them outside walmart. Please open your minds. This is brutality.

You hit on the essence of the whole problem. One innocent person being unjustly hurt through a system seemingly intent on being more and more of a police state is wrong. I spent my entire life doing good things and was wrongfully charged and convicted last year of something I was not guilty. It was and is a painful reminder of the dilemma we face as a society trying to keep peace amongst the masses and not wrongly accuse and punish innocent people.
