Campaign for Liberty Regional Conference in St. Louis
Submitted by OFallonBrent on Fri, 01/30/2009 - 14:42
The first in a series of Campaign for Liberty regional conferences is set for March 27, 28, 29 in St. Louis, Missouri.
There will be a number of prominent speakers, including Ron Paul, at the conference. Some of the speakers will bring substantial additional national exposure to the event.
This is going to be a big event and plans are well underway for a great conference.
More details will be coming in a few days on the C4L website.

I
I was wondering, what are the odds of getting Vaclav Klaus to speak at this convention and turn it into a major international event. It would be a great way to kick of the first CFL convention of 2009. What'dya think?
Are they having one in FL?

I think so
There are planning 4 or 5 in various parts of the country this year. I don't remember which cities they are considering. They want to wait until the locations are actually booked and under contract before making announcements.
The official announcement for the St. Louis conference should be made on the C4L website this week.
The C4L - ?
Dr. Ron Paul cured my apathy.
*
But let's be frank here. The Daily Paul is the forum for frank discussions generally.
I just can't stand John Tate. I dont like Debbie Hopper any better than I like Hillary Clinton. I really don't much like Jesse Benton but find him tolerable. Lew Moore is a traitor and a scumbag.
I got a email from someone about the St. Louis meeting a few days ago telling me what all seats of honour I could get if I sent donations at various amounts, like if I gave $xxxx.xx, I could speak for 15 minutes, sit at the table with someone or the other, etc. etc ---
It's the sort of stuff that I would expect to get from the RNC.
I am really concerned that we are on a path that leads to destruction with these clowns, and I am just Sick that the likes of Tate, Hopper, and Moore are what Ron Paul brings us.
How is it that we have this wonderful ideology, but such a clueless crowd running the C4L?
I couldn't agree more.
That's why I have avoided anything having to do with CFL. The local
"leadership" here stinks too. It's almost as if their purpose is to discredit
RP and the movement.
I hate to say it but, in retrospect, I think it's a good thing RP didn't win. He is an extraordinarily honorable and brave man, but he has very bad judgement when it comes to knowing who to choose to represent him and his ideas and organizations. Makes me wonder the cabinet, staff, etc we would have under him.
Sick of this crap
So what would you do then? If you were the one in charge what would be different?
If your leadership sucks so bad, step up and become a leader yourself.
Trying to get Ron Paul supporters all on the same page can be like herding cats sometimes. Are you God's gift to cat herders? If so, step up or shut up.
This is a long term project. This instant gratification attitude is not realistic.
Maybe you live in an alter universe where a house drops from the sky complete and furnished. I live in one where you have to build a foundation, then floors and walls, then a roof, etc etc.
The C4L is still building the foundation.
People complain about it being top down, then bitch the top isn't doing enough. People want it to be bottom up, which it is, and then bitch about the people at the bottom not doing things right.
Just STFU, stay out of the way, and look for our coat tails in a couple of years and get on the band wagon and claim you knew all along it would work out.
o'fallon Mo or o'fallon IL - brent
#1 - You don't drive cats, you draw them.
#2 - These cats you complain about have given up their lives, their substance, almost everything they have to this cause.
#3 - It isn't persuasive to tell us to STFU when we speak of issues. If we want people to tell us to STFU we can get that from the RNC.
#4 - Why can't we get straight answers instead of this whining and arrogant hosing us about watching your coattails?
Get over yourself
I'm tired of people like you whining, since you like that term, about how things are being done, but instead of trying to improve things you just walk off and bad mouth people.
It's O'Fallon Missouri since you asked. I'm the 2nd Congressional District Coordinator for the C4L in Missouri. I was also chairman of our county caucus where we took every delegate in the most Republican county in the state. Almost 160 delegates to the state convention.
You claim you can't get straight answers. I can assure you, and everyone in my CD and the two neighboring CDs we meet with on a monthly basis will tell you, I listen to everyone's concerns and act on every one.
But you didn't present specific issues. You didn't ask questions. You went on a personal attack and stated your disgust for the C4L. Did you ever contact your C4L County, District, or State coordinators with your concerns? I doubt you did.
So again I will say, if the C4L disgusts you so much, thank you for your past efforts, have a nice life. The rest of the members of C4L are fighting the fight for you. I hope your solo efforts net some results.
ok mr. stafford.
Your Picture Here
I am sure I don't have a clue what I am talking about.
Good for you
Why not list the link to the CD page and not just my photo?

I'm glad you finally admitted you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
Thank you OFallon, I can't imagine what things would be like
without the C4L. As you said, C4L is fighting the fight for all of us. Let everyone who has a criticism join in, work together as a team and not be divisive. Congratulations on the work you are doing in MO, and the regional conference coming up - this is very exciting!!

Spring Break for Liberty
If you are on spring break during this time, why not spend it St. Louis with your friends.
Great news!
I would love to go. The Rally was so incredible and I know this will be, too. We have to keep this alive.

Thanks for the heads up Brent
I'll mark my calendar now!

I would love to make it. For anyone who knows they are going, hotwire.com has rooms available at a 4 star hotel downtown for 55.00 a night for that weekend. heres a link:

Hotels
The hotel/conference center where the conference will be held is the Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis. Its not far from the Arch.
http://www.millenniumhotels.com/millenniumstlouis/index.html
The C4L has a block of rooms reserved. They are:
"Superior" room w/ 2 double beds 119.00 + tax
"Standard" room w/2 double beds 99.00 + tax
The "Superior" room is larger, is in the main tower, and has better views.
It might be possible to book this using some name your own price site for less, but often with those sites you don't get to pick the specific hotel.
There are a number of other good hotels downtown at various prices.
I live in the area, so I'd be glad to answer anyone's questions about the area or things to do outside of the conference.
