Who has prepared for the worse case scenario?

I have to say that the majority of us here on DP
have been paying attention if not, maybe you need to be hit upside the head with a mallot. I do know that the majority that voted for Obama seek to have the government take care of them, or at least to some extent...that is not the American way, not the American way I was raised to believe. I surely hope Obama takes a nose dive and all those individuals who are depending on him, and our sad ass government to bail them out suffer, hopefully those will be the people that are put into the FEMA camps, and rightfully so..those individuals that look for comfort at the expense of others should not be allowed their freedom. These individuals should not hope that our government will bail them out, and take care of them, if they do, they are wrong, and they deserve nothing, and that is my opinion. Maybe we, the Freedom Loving, and Constitutional minded people will prevail, and we will have a country that will flourish once all the takers, and gimmie folks have been rounded up, and discarded.

I am ready to die.

I expect I will survive in spirit form and have an active life beyond my biological life. I do not regard death as a worst-case scenario, however. It is a natural part of our experience. This frees me to play the game in whatever form it takes.

I suppose the most terrifying for humanity would be a Planet X scenario, a Velikovskian close approach that caused the oceans to leap from their beds, Mississippi-sized lightning bolts arcing between planets where their atmospheres touched, and 800-mph winds scouring the earth's surface down to bedrock. I'm not prepared at all to survive that, though I have no doubt the miltary and the power elite have deep, deep shelters that might save them.

New Hampshire and Ecuador

silly me....

I thought the guys wearing perpetual camo, were overly concerned about things....

Arkansas.

the natural state.
both sides of the road pullover and stop when a funeral passes by. a woman with a flat tire will not have long to wait before a guy in a pick up stops to help.
I never really understood the fascination with guns, hunting and fishing untill now.
there is a strong undercurrent here, and it is in favor for the cause of liberty.
"stocking up" is normal around here.
while I am not from here. I feel very blessed right about now.

"the worse case scenario"

Are firearms, USING THEM! Or, is that the "absolute worse case"?

Regardless:

Bunch of gun info on Alex Jones today, like 'em or not, check out this firearm program. Make up your own mind.

the worst case, is needing one and not having one.

M'mm

Having one and afraid too use it?

i'm

I'm about 40% of where i think i need to be. I do have the family farm to retreat to in the country though, and in that scenario it brings me closer to 75%. Out there we got a great water well, a river that runs through the property, and great small game hunting. Along with some great neighbors with which one gave my parents a full butchered hog which i got half of for putting in his fence posts last spring. I'm still working on my windmill system, The only components i still need is the wiring which has been so expensive for the past year.

I am

Ready!!

Seems a little harsh to me..

I think we should try to be more open and less likely to condemn people for their lack of knowledge. I am not sure about you but I was not aware of the crap going on until I hit my late 30's. It was then that I was able to listen, research and form my own ideas. We should stick together and not refuse helping anyone open to new and different ideas. Many people have thoughts that are based in our educational system....government provides the safety net...I am guilty of believing that for years. Instead of wanting to leave people out, maybe we should be more open of letting them in so they can see the alternative to government taking care of them. Just my 2 cents...for what it's worth.

Stock up on

that propane gents!

Filled another big bin with canned foods yesterday

$98 at Big Lots buys a lot of food (and a 20 gallon plastic tub). If anyone has neglected buying survival food because of the expense, get it in small increments like this and you'll be ready before you know it.

You have the right idea!

Canned goods are the logical starting point....maybe even the logical cornerstone of your food program. They have a long shelf life, and they are usually full of water, which is just as important, if not more so, than the nutritional value of the food itself.

I also get stuff like pasta, "just add water" pancake mix

canned fruits and veggies, chocolate bars, pre-mixed rice & spice blends, spices (for hunted meat), peanuts & peanut butter, and other things that will keep a long time and be easy to prepare over a fire if necessary.

I also refill water and soda bottles and keep them in my basement. I have a TON of water.

BTW---your cartoons kick ass!!

Thanks! And you're right...

Also to store that pasta, pancake mix, and cereals, and lots of other things, perhaps a chest freezer.

Your POP water storage idea is very logical. Those two-liter bottles are almost indestructible.

I think a chest freezer for survivalcould bring on depression in

an extended bad situation with no electricity. Throwing away spoiled food that couldn't be eaten fast enough could be hard on an already challenged spirit.

That's why I think they

That's why I think they should be used to extend the shelf life of grains and cereals, chips--things that do not get mushy and rot at room temperature.
