Senate GOP leader says party must change
WASHINGTON – After crushing defeats in back-to-back elections, the top Senate Republican warned Thursday that the GOP risks remaining out of power in the White House and Congress unless it better explains its core principles to woo one-time faithful and new loyalists.
"Unless we do something to adapt, our status as a minority party may become too pronounced for an easy recovery," Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., told the Republican National Committee on Thursday. "The situation is challenging, but it's far from irreversible."

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul
Libertarian Payback for Bob Barr!
Remember Bob Barr screwing the Libertarian party by knifing Ron Paul in the back?
Libertarians should recruit a David Duke and run him as a Republican, focusing on the issues of white working males. I can't think of a better way to poison the Repugs!
Well...I think living well is the best revenge.
We should punish them for Barr by kicking out Barr and taking over the national Libertarian Party.
The GOP doesn't need any of our help self-destructing, really. They're doing a helluva job on their own.

I don't agree
Because I have been supporting Nader's presidential campaigns, "An Independent has the right to be on the ballot", it became OBVIOUS that the game is RIGGED when you have Republicans like Barr, and Democrats like McKinney running as third party nominees, "because they are vetted", that they are really acting as gatekeepers and assuring that no NEW BLOOD get into any position of party power.
Obama was vetted in The New Party. There are 31 registered third parties. As Ron Paul points out, there is no legal limit to how many political parties you belong, he belongs to several. Perhaps if he was not so suprized at the response to his run, he would have been the Libertarian Party nominee instead of Barr?

I would hope he will change parties before 2012.
..But he has good reason to stay Republican because of his senior status on Capitol Hill. He takes his job in Congress very seriously.
There's no reason, however, for the movement to stay Republican just because Ron Paul is still a Republican.

Holding steady in the Republican Party gives Dr. Paul the credibility the RNC doesn't want him to have that is why all this so called GOP change is just horseshit window dressing. His expert knowledge of monetary policy, the markets and foreign policy means the tv interviews being granted lately should continue as the liberal media do not view him as much of a threat plus he is the only Republican who has a clear understanding of these issues. In fact Ron is the only Republican the media is listening to right now so I say that puts him in good shape for impacting the 2010 mid-terms and possibly making another run in 2012.
I concur, BUT
If enough mainstream (dumb-sheep) Republican voters get disgusted with the corruption, lies and agenda of the neocons, and the party virtually disintegrates by said voters voting in the next Democratic primary, the remaining 3rd parties will then begin fighting for a new prominent neocon-opposition party.
Even Democrats, especially blue-dogs and white males, would defect from the current liberal-neocon, socialist-backstabbing Democrats.
We should think 3-moves or elections ahead; 1. Demolish Repugs. 2-Heard Repugs into Democrat primary 3-Propose strong, viable, Repug-party replacement that will capture Nationalistic, conservative Republicans, and disaffected Nationalist Democrats.
I Agree
Your point concerning the movement to remain GOP was very hard to make during the Ron Paul campaign. I think we all know, including MSM, that if Ron Paul ran as an Indy, or better, teamed up with Nader on an Indy ticket, and Nader as VP (because Naderites like me had three elections of experience with corporate party dirty tricks), and uniting right/left VS corporate power, fed reserve, Wasn't it interesting that the GOP gave us two new TV personalities this eection, Ron Paul and Palin?

hmmmm
Palin took me by surprize. I see her and Obama as equals in the corporate duopoly. She "trumped" Clinton in that Clinton represented women's struggle to achieve in a man's world despite men, while Palin moved to the top because of men... and it also showed, there is no new blood, just new tricks to keep us off balance.

Palin looked star-struck by Kissenger,
I heard her high-school friends were all now in Alaska gov leadership positions (remind you of Bush? Seems the only people that weren't in such positions in the Bush admin were the "diversity" crowd like Rice, Chow, Ramirez(? Attn. General), FCC Powel, etc. etc.) Have you ever seen such "diversity" (not choosing the best person, but the most superficially sentimental). Do you think Obama will fill his cabnet with token whites?
Palin was also chosen to capture disaffected Hilary voters. Screw principle, give us gender/race/religious affiliation!
No thanks. No self-respecting, principled person will play the role of token appointee by reverse-racists, that by implication, declare every white male guilty on a racist premise that superficial race and gender group-identity condemns one to compensate the ancestors of the victimized dead.
The whole premise the "inclusive" and "diverse" repugs operate on is race/gender group identity guilt, just like the Dems, and this is done to hide the real prejudice - that of Ivy-League old-money class aristocracy.
Notice, only the poor, broken-home (Clinton, Obama, et.) graduates of the Ivy League are tapped to represent the old-money aristocrats pulling their strings. To fool the dumb public that identify with superficial race/gender/religious identity and hope that they too can succeed in the "American Dream".
The American Dream is liberty to rise or fall on your merit, not be chosen as a winner or loser in representing the Ivy-League aristocracy in deceiving the general public.

I agree, and we aren't going to be able to outfox them.
There's big money backing Palin...there has been throughout her so-called "media victimization" campaign (which was really intended to increase her celebrity).
That's a second reason I hope Ron Paul runs Libertarian...it would be nice to at least see him win a nomination, and be on the ballot.

Neocon's wage Total Race War? Bring it on!
"He vowed to expand the reach of the party by competing for every group, everywhere.
"We're going to say to friend and foe alike: 'We want you to be a part of us, we want you to with be with us.' And for those who wish to obstruct, get ready to get knocked over," Steele said."
The neocons have now done to the Republicans what they did to the Democrats years ago - they've choosen polyglot multiculturalism, choosing to racially divide and conquer by pandering to minorities and women while discounting the working class's traditional white-male issues.
Checkout Bat Buchanan's "Globalism vs. Ethno-nationalism" at:
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=30490
****
Quoting:
"In Jerry Z. Muller's "Us and Them: The Enduring Power of Ethnic Nationalism," in Foreign Affairs, his thesis is summarized:
"Americans generally belittle the role of ethnic nationalism in politics. But ... it corresponds to some enduring propensities of the human spirit. It is galvanized by modernization, and ... it will drive global politics for generations to come. Once ethnic nationalism has captured the imagination of groups in a multiethnic society, ethnic disaggregation or partition is often the least bad answer."
Disaggregation or partition, the man said.
Are we really in a post-racial America, or is our multicultural multiethnic America, too, destined for Balkanization and break-up? "
****
According to Game Theory, your opponents strength is his weakness. Republicans, if they desired victory, should be promoting Ann Coulter's brand of victimhood-bashing. They should be planning to return to traditional, race and gender-blind working-man's issues, not liberal multicultural victim-worship. They should be preparing to attack Obama as an inexperienced, communist half-black man elected only because he was black, by people who can only judge in race-victims terms.
Instead, they are playing racial politics of divide and conquer, like the Democrats. I strongly suspect, after reading Buchanan's column, that the Zionist influence in the Neoconservative wing basks in this victim-worship, because its vehemently denying it is racist in the face of the atrocity being committed in Gaza. If you watch the foreign news, (BBC notwithstanding) you can't help but notice the rest of the world noting the hypocrisy of racists denying their racists by blaming everyone else for racism!
But racial divide-and-conquer doesn't work for intelligent conservatives like it does for dumb liberals that inwardly are racists, identifying with those superficially like them. Those of us with common sense watch the ideology acted out, like Ron Paul, and not disingenuously espoused with token actions.
As more and more *stuff* hits the fan, more and more liberal BS of the last 40 years is going to be violently rejected. Soccer moms can be green, tree and po ghetto chile huggin liberals while they are affluent, cooled, warmed, fed and SUV'd.
Take a way that, and everyone will start to become cranky conservatives! Just watch and see!
Now, to cash in on this coming backlash, we shouldn't do the obvious, reactionary thing (speaking as a Libertarian white male) and go recruit David Duke. Though that just might work, it will cause just more reverberations of strife later. We need to market ourselves as *AMERICAN NATIONALISTS", include minorities and women, but only ones worth their salt. Not as ostentatious token canards for hypocrisy as the neocons do!
Like Ron Paul recently said, focusing on liberty and personal responsibility as we ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK NEOCONSERVATISM - identifying it for what it is -
Big Centralized Government
Big Central Banks
Big Empirialism
Big Brother and Nanny
These are the core of the neocon interest and power. Though they are too powerfull to attack with brute force, they will succumb to akido-tactics - we push the real interests neocons espouse into public view, and expose the Republicrats as the ones espousing them.
The Republicans learned nothing, and are adamantly choosing neoconservative suicide. Let them knock us down, and as we go down, we roll, directing their momentum against their balance and end with our feet crushing their neck.
We need to try to avoid the label 'conservative', IMHO.
The words "neoconservative" and "conservative" are now synonymous. There's no point in continuing to use the "neo-" prefix.
When Goldwater was running for president, 'conservative' was a good word. That was 45 years ago. It's now a dirty word to most people, especially after George W. Bush.
Pat Buchanan has tried unsuccessfully to take back the word. He's one of the only people extant with any understanding of the benign root of the conservative philosophy. To the majority of the people of the world, Bush was a 'conservative' leader, meaning 'right-wing military strongman'.
I say let the neo-cons keep the word. I don't mind being called conservative by someone using it as a compliment, but I consider myself to be a 'libertarian', not a conservative.

Excellent point,
"Libertarian" is kind of tainted too, from the likes of Bill Mahr, that espouses socialism. Mahr also likes big government and Zionist militarism, for that matter.
Ron Paul defined his type of "conservatism" in "The Revolution" well, noting St. Thomas Aquainas noted not all vices should be punished by the state, while noting they are vices.
I agree that "libertarian" is slightly tainted.
Mostly because of cocktail-weiner libertarians like Maher, and statist poseurs like Barr.
The word has a long, long, long way to fall, however, before it's as tainted as 'conservative'.

Sick
I'm tired of the ami female and her tattooed nakedness shooting her mouth off.
Her's my advice to her:
1. Stop "singing"- you have no talent
1a. Get dressed and stop wearing the fema colors.
2. Get your tattoos removed
3. Get married
4. Have kids and teach them at home.
I'm glad you made your comments!
I agree with you completely. But as you can read for yourself, most libertarians don't. They are incapable of understanding the very direct connection between personal decadence and government decadence. Their main objective is to get government out of their lives and out of their pockets. After that, they think they should have carte blanche to live life on their own terms, so long as their terms are "victimless." (A lot of people ... whole societies ... usually pay the price for these "victimless" behaviors ... but they haven't the wisdom to see that).
Well, the members of the Fed are living life on their own terms. Politicians are living life on their own terms too. I don't know what makes amoral libertarians believe that, given similar circumstances, they would do any better.
Libertarians love to give lip service to the founding fathers, but gloss right over the numerous admonitions ... from Jefferson, Washington, Adams, Franklin, etc. ... that VIRTUE and MORALITY are indispensable to keeping a republican form of government. They just don't get it They are the retards of this whole movement.
Well, that sick little performance brings up the sixty-four thousand dollar question: if this represents American culture is it even worth saving?
I'm still a bit rocked when I meet freedom lovers
so superficial and narrow-minded as RS and GodinVA in the 2 posts above.
And GodinVA, there's too much murder and corruption in the history of Christianity for you to still be claiming some mythical moral high ground.
Actually ...
I'm more a TRUTH lover than a freedom lover. It's the Truth that sets you free.
So you went to public school too!
I have to assume you're a pacifist ... no cause is worth fighting for or dying for ... because that seems to be the point you make.
If you ever steeped yourself in real history, you would quickly see that the death and destruction of the 20th century dwarfs to utter insignificance however many people were killed throughout the prior 1900 years due to religious wars. FYI, by the 20th century Christianity was marginalized and Freemasonry, Republicanism, Communism, Nazism and Zionism were in power. They are responsible for hundreds of millions of dead people in one little ole 100 year span. So ...
Why don't you grow up, stop believing the swill that the communist inspired public mis-education system has repeated ad nauseam, and read several good histories of the world. You may find out that some of those old, nasty religious wars are the very reason that today you're not a Muslim.
Thank God that, in the past, Catholic men laid down their lives to protect real freedom. Most people on this site are only interested in protecting license.
I'll keep the moral high ground, thank you. You can have the sty.
Statistics Please...
It would be easy to point to China and USSR and say, since they reaped the biggest body-count of victims dead as a result of human action, communism is to blame.
But I'd like to see some statistics that look at percentage of population killed by war. For instance, I recently read that in a study of some Indonesian tribes, men had a 50% chance of dying in tribal war by age 40, IIRC. Even chimps have been observed in tribal war. I suspect war is about cranky, desperate people finding differences to fight over, rather than people getting cranky and desperate over differences!
I'd really like to read a good cross-cultural anthropological study of war and famine. I strongly suspect we'd find religion is not a causal, but an accidental factor, that religious differences arise because of injustice and corruption. Like the reformation, or many people today leaving the injustice and corruption of their native faith for another faith where they don't experience the injustice and corruption.
The times they are a-changin'!
