Wake Up The Unemployed... Now!!!!!

0 votes

I wish we could just move on with are Revolution instead of having to waste all our energy on trying to wake people up. If we are going to spend all our energy on waking people up then we should start focusing on all these unemployed people who have some extra time on there hands to think about the stuff we are talking about. They are probably alot more open to our message right now, because they want to know how they got into this situation, and we can explain the FED to them and how they were the ones who created this. We need to unite these people, maybe on some sort of Revolution unemployment website, because the gov is going to try and offer them work soon, but the problem with that is that they will be working for the government. So all these hundreds of thousands of people that are out of work now could potentially be working for the gov and against the people, within the next few months! We need to WAKE these people up ASAP, while they are still open to our philosophy and willing to fight back. Once the gov hires them, they will lose that drive. Please help us focus on waking up the unemployed. www.LibertySpammer.com

Legions facing layoffs turn to parties, Internet

Sun Feb 8, 2:33 AM EST
The bar was crowded with well-dressed professionals enjoying drinks and conversation, a typical evening — except that many of them had no job.

The event was a Wall Street Pink Slip Party, where the unemployed mix with recruiters and curious bystanders to network, look for work, and share their stories.

With employers shedding 600,000 more jobs in January, the undercurrent at this party in a Manhattan bar was decidedly glum.

"Wall Street, directly or indirectly, has ruined the best 10 years of my life," said Susan Lange, speaking of colleagues and friends she lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and the sense now, after being laid off from her job as an AIG training manager, that her world has again turned on its head.

"I'm devastated," the 39-year-old woman said.

Figures released Friday showed that the unemployment rate hit 7.6 in January, a month with more layoffs than at any other time since 1974.

Jobseekers are gathering in bars, delving into the business networking Web site LinkedIn, waiting in lines at city help centers, and even starting up hopeful conversations with prosperous-looking strangers on commuter trains — all in the hope of landing jobs in what seems to be a shrinking pool of opportunity.

"Places have hiring freezes. And they have cutbacks. And they have layoffs. There are a lot more people in the job market," said 32-year-old Ana Arrendell, who has been searching for work since August.

At first, she was looking only for a job in her field, graphic design. But as the months have gone by, Arrendell has lowered her expectations. "Right now, I'll take anything," she said Friday as she left a New York City-run office that offers resume-writing assistance and interview training.

Already having given up hope for a Wall Street job making $80,000 per year right out of college, recent graduate David Gunther is getting creative as he tries to expand his business network.

The 23-year-old has begun hanging around commuter ferries and suburban trains, chatting up professional-looking types traveling to areas where executives live. Recently, at an electronica concert — a wildly different atmosphere than at the career services office at his university — he talked to some fans who introduced him to an entertainment-industry manager. Now he's preparing for a job interview with the man.

Gunther isn't the only one looking for new ways to meet people. Among the groups using the networking service Meetup, the NYC Job Seekers & Career Strategy group has more than doubled in size to 454 people since September, with more than 95 joining since the first of the year. Worldwide, Meetup has seen a boom in career-related groups; more than 2,000 were started in January, compared to about 500 a month over the summer, said spokesman Andres Glusman.

Chandlee Bryan, a resume writer and career coach who acts as facilitator for the New York group, says she has seen it transform. Initially, people attending the meetings were pondering a career switch out of a desire for something new. Now, participants in talks on online networking and interviewing techniques are more often being forced into the hunt, either because they've been laid off or because they believe they might be.

Bryan says the meetings help people fight off the solitude that comes with being jobless.

"There's a great deal of isolation," she said. "That complicates the process and makes it harder, given that the majority of people find their jobs through networking."

That's the point of the Wall Street Pink Slip Party — modeled after similar events held following the dot-com bust. Since the reincarnation was launched in November, the intensity at the parties is increasing, says organizer Rachel Pine.

The first event drew a mix of people, only a quarter of them laid off. By the Feb. 4 event, 85 to 90 percent of the 400 people were looking for work.

The scene at the bustling Public House bar on Wednesday night was varied, as men and women in a mix of suits and corporate casual wear — and pink glow-in-the-dark wristbands that marked them as jobseekers — homed in on recruiters wearing green wristbands.

Some were approaching their job search with equanimity, figuring they could rely on savings socked away during the flush years. Others seemed more desperate, counting their change after paying for the coat check. Some, drink in hand, sounded almost bitter about their personal economic downturn.

Andrea Bouwman recounted watching the Super Bowl with a growing sense of ire, as she saw the millions of dollars that her former employer PepsiCo had spent on advertising instead of salaries.

"They kind of compromised people for the actual advertising," said the former marketing manager, adding that since she got her pink slip she's been drinking only Coca-Cola.

Options are more limited back at the city employment center in Brooklyn, where 43-year-old Desmond Moulton, who held jobs as a retail salesman, recounts months of dashed hopes.

Most recently he returned to the job placement center, only to see a once-enthusiastic counselor turn somber as she studied his prospects.

"She clearly wanted to help me. She clearly wanted to have some good news to give me," he said. "But she had none."

"GINO" = Government In Name Only

They may fall off the wire, but into the safety-net.

Right now I"m afraid, the unemployed of this nation are on some kind of unemployment compensation, and have this government "safety net" under them. It is going to be hard to convince them that government is not their friend, and only until these people run out of options will they be receptive to the messages of what ills this country. so I would plant the seeds for when they run out of unemployment or other hand-out programs. because you are going to get..."I lost my job but it's OK, I'm on an unemployment vacation until I find something else, or until the economy picks-up after the president gets his policies going and every one gets back to work again. Their going to fight and call you crazy all the way to the bank as they cash in their government checks.

I agree...

It will be good to communicate with these people no matter what the out come. Like you said, if they dont want to believe us now, at least we can plant the seed so they will have the opportunity to come around later when they are really in trouble.

Education folks are waking up

I have been trying to educate people for 2 years now about the events that are unfolding but it is only NOW starting to sink in for folks. For the first time since the depression, education is not a 'safe' job plus it has not gotten a lot respect due to dropout statistics. However, with school boards across the county, trying to balance their budgets teachers are now asking me about things that I have told them before. We need to trim spending for programs that are not getting an excellent return. An example of this is International Baccerlorate program which is based in Switzerland. Our schools have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to be a part of this program but we have so few that get this added perk on their standard diplomas that I question its worth. Since we have had a couple snow days in VA, I have been busy contacting my senators about the stimulus package and my Education system.

I suspect we will have hundreds of thousands of teachers unemployed or having very reduced hours in the next school year. If we have the tax revolts as Gerald Celente predicts, I suspect that education will even be further reduced in the states. With the current budget crisis, teachers are starting to see how the dots are connected. I refer teachers to this site, NewswithViews, and outside news agency so they can see how US is being discussed and to get other economic view points. They start to see by their own self-education that things are not looking good at all and if we are not careful we will end up like Iceland. They also see like that video that was posted here that if we continue to be complacent that we will be the like the Brits without guns,.

Why is THIS thread important?

Because a major part of our job is getting the word out. Anyone who's been in this long knows that most people are just not receptive to receiving this information. However we all knew that sooner or later the people will start wising up. We all knew that once somebody becomes a vicitim to all of this crap they will wise up fast. Well THESE PEOPLE ARE THE VICTIMS and they now want to know what is going on. Wise em up . Turn them on.

Keep this bumped. until everyone here has read it.

BUMP BUMP

This is the time for a LOT of people to start waking up, because they are now victims, good comment.

My Homeschool friend and I

are at this very moment trying to put together a website to educate the homeschool community in our state about the coming shitstorm. We are gathering info, on a 'kindergarten' level to present to the others, without sounding like tinfoil hats. We figure if we can gather them in at the low level, they will want more info. As my friend said, kindergarten, intermediate, and then advance anarchy level. Just have to find a way to present it where they will follow through and read. Any suggestions? In case you are not aware, most homeschoolers are rebels and are ready to stand their ground. Just need to be presented with the right info. What's a good starter/primer?

Colchester, New London County, Connecticut

Two topics I use...

are the Fed being a private corporation (most people just do not know that, though I suspect most home schoolers do), and Obama citizenship, both of which are Constitutional issues, getting you off the hook of having to justify your points with "reason"; either the Constitution matters or it doesn't, which IS important to most homeschoolers. Both topics open the door for many others. Additionally, I think it is very important for conservatives to come to grips with how, under the banner of conservatism, the empire has developed through government facilitating corporate power. This is a difficult concept to grasp because of the leftist label of "evil corporations" and "evil capitalism", both of which point to the truth but are mischaracterizations; neither are evil of themselves, but when government and corps. hop in bed together, they both lose their proper checks and balances. Good examples are all the "public/private initiatives, many of which are pushed by "conservatives". This video really helps to understand the longrange result of merging government and corporations:

A key part of the Revolution...

IS waking up those around us. We have the ability to tip the balance in our favor and it is urgent that we do so. If we allow folks to wake up due to a financial collapse or the next 911, they likely will unwittingly demand tyranny or World Government in order to make their lives easier. I think we have to be aggressive informing neighbors now.

Yes

I have a friend who was sort of listening but claimed to be too busy with her 2 part time jobs and trying to make ends meet. Then she lost both due to a car accident and toe surgery. She has really started paying attention and is asking me to explain to some of her friends and family. How involved or active she/they will get I don't know, but at least they are interested and talking and investigating, asking questions ect.. All are saying they don't understand why people didn't vote for Ron Paul and why didn't we here more about him on tv?

That is GREAT!

They are going to ask us ALOT of questions, cause this just "popped up" on for them, but we need to keep them focused on what the main topics are. Keep them focused on the FED and how creating money out of thin air is creating hyper inflation. Explain to them that a "Bailout" is just going to add to this inflation that will make a McDonalds hamburger cost $20. That really hits home and makes them think about the future and also talk about how their children and grand children will be paying our debt off. Just keep it focused, i know there are alot more things going on, gov corruption, flu shots, chem trails, housing, ect... but keep them focused and keep it simple. Show them videos, this is my favorite video, that really got me active.

A letter from an Employer...to those currently employed

I received this as a email forward today....

To All My Valued Employees,

There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn't pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country.
However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interests.

First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner there is a back story. This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear. Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You've seen my big home at last years Christmas party. I'm sure; all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life.

However, what you don't see is the back story.

I started this company 28 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for 3 years. My entire living apartment was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company, which by the way, would eventually employ you.

My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles because every dollar I spent went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn't have time to date. Often times, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying. In fact, I was married to my business -- hard work, discipline, and sacrifice.

Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting the Nordstrom's for the latest hot fashion item, I was trolling through the Goodwill store extracting any clothing item that didn't look like it was birthed in the 70's. My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury. I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly had.

So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9am, mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5pm, I don't. There is no "off" button for me. When you leave the office, you are done and you have a weekend all to yourself. I unfortunately do not have the freedom. I eat, and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day this business is attached to my hip like a 1 year old special-needs child. You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden -- the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations... you never realize the back story and the sacrifices I've made.

Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions and saved his money, have to bail-out all the people who didn't. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed a decade of my life for.

Yes, business ownership has is benefits but the price I've paid is steep and not without wounds.

Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me tell you why:

I am being taxed to death and the government thinks I don't pay enough. I have state taxes. Federal taxes. Property taxes. Sales and use taxes. Payroll taxes. Workers compensation taxes. Unemployment taxes. Taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing him. Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting that goes with it, now occupy most of my time. On Oct 15th, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You know what my "stimulus" check was? Zero. Nada. Zilch.

The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy? Me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs and serves over 2,200,000 people per year with a flourishing business? Or, the single mother sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check? Obviously, government feels the latter is the economic stimulus of this country.

The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck , you'd quit and you wouldn't work here. I mean, why should you? That's nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree , which is why your job is in jeopardy.

Here is what many of you don't understand ... to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy. Had suddenly government mandated to me that I didn't need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries. But you can forget it now.

When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don't defibrillate and shock his thumb thinking that will bring him back to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it. Suddenly, the power brokers in Washington believe the poor of America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change you can keep.

So where am I going with all this?

It's quite simple.

If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, my reaction will be swift and simple. I fire you. I fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV, and your child's future. Frankly, it isn't my problem any more.

Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire. You see, I'm done. I'm done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be my citizenship.

If you lose your job, it won't be at the hands of the economy; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steamrolled the constitution, and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, you can find me sitting on a beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about....

Signed,
Your boss

PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO LISTEN MORE

I have had great success the last couple of nights at work. Usually only a small number of people stand around listening to my concerns for this Country. Last night I had the floor, even people coming to listen instead of scurrying away.
The night before I had a neocon call me a liberal and a libertarian in the same sentence , and call Ron Paul crazy ! The stupidity level was on high with this guy. That was it for me I tore into that guy like a wet paper bag. I made it a commitment to break this guy down no matter what it took even the guys at work said it couldn't be done.

Last night I pulled him off to the side and said to him " I would never question his patriotism toward this country " and " I know he loves this Country " Then I proceeded to tell him " that we will need guys like him at the front lines of this battle for the Country ". Believe it or not this guy started giving a lot ground and I asked for more information , WOW !! Even the guys at worked were stunned !

This guy has been a tough cookie and I WILL bring him around, people have told me that " I would make a perfect salesman" so I will use my skills to sell them the Constitution , Ron Paul and all the blessings of freedom!

Well thanks for reading my post and I am off to BREAK more NEOCONS wish me luck !

Goto Job Fairs

and pass out lit on the Federal Reserve and Ron Paul.
trust me, those people are very open to our message. I have heard of thousands of people showing up to job fairs.
if you work, get some Paulistas that are going to college and have a flexible schedule to hand out flyers

OK, I like this idea.

OK, I like this idea.

Excellent idea.........

You've got some very good points with this! Ok now they are now receptive to listening and learning about the problem, but we need ideas to give them direction from here. Got any ideas on what to tell them then?

I was thinking there are a lot of places out there where we can make contact with these people, such as, homeless shelters, food lines / banks, job search facilities, etc. many of these places may be open to some kind of presentation on the issue?

Tell them...

how they got into this situation, by talking about the FED. Explain that inflation is a tax, and then give them 1 source to focus on, which is the FED, the CFR, and the Builderberg Group. These 3 Organizations are have been taking over our country since atleast 1913 when the FED came into play. Give them history and examples. I was thinking about starting a website specifically for this topic. You can also get them involved by telling them about websites like www.dailypaul.com and www.libertyspammer.com

Re: Tell them...

Thanks for the suggestions, but I was referring to giving them some sort direction and / or hope after we've woken them up. We don't want to leave someone who is already depressed even more depressed. We want to show them that thier life is not over and that NOW is the time for that action that will define them.

These people will want to also know about getting work. Let them know that they are not supposed to rely on that unemployment check. That check will end in time and as time goes by work will be harder to find. Let them know that the time to find work is NOW. Be sure to let them know that unemployment breeds more unemployment. It is a snowball that grows and picks up momentum as it goes along.

I know this is a sweet / sour mix for those that just cannot find work. But its better that they know then don't know.

I've been thinking the same thing

for a long time now. The ones who are affected and with nothing else to do are the most easily mobilizable. By the way in Southeast PA there's strikes planned for our oil refiniries.
