Just a word of possible
Just a word of possible advice- though I would check with your state laws before you do this.
I have read, and been told by gunsmiths, that if you disassemble your gun into small parts -keeping them stored as such- then they don't constitute a firearm in some places. Anyway, in a situation where the 2nd amendment becomes completely infringed, I would suggest doing this and hiding the parts separately. Of course I would also keep at least one together for personal protection.
For anyone who is curious I don't currently own any firearms but I apprenticed under a licensed gunsmith for a few years- for curiosities sake. There are a lot of guns that are not that complex in construction and I would recommend that everyone own at least one of those. In dire times it would be MUCH easier to make a safe repair or personally replace worn pieces on such.
learn how to hide and store your guns
make sure you all have some good ideas to where you can hide your weapons and what it takes to store them correctly. Always have a throw away gun and gun story. stock all you can while you can, period.
say "no' to the NWO
The majority of people dont own guns and feel intimidated by
people who do. A coworker said that if we got rid of all the guns then every one would be safer. When I asked her why DC and Great Britan and most if not all countries with firearms bans had increased crime rates. She doesn't care to educate her self or be educated about the basic need of self defense. When they take all the guns and then run over your other rights then people will see the need. Even the apostles of Christ where armed. Basic self defense.

I wouldn't say it's the majority.
I know we have a tendency here to often see things in the light of the "worst case", but I think it's been over ten years since the majority of Americans favored tighter controls on guns. Opinion polls comfirm this, I believe.

I've never owned a gun, but I think I will start buying some, and go to the firearm's safety class, and practice at the shooting range. Get em while you can.
