Yay ... and Nay
It's time for a break away from ALL parties. Strip the Republicrats of their hold on the campaigning and voting process and run Independent. That's how a true Republic is supposed to work.
Sorry - I know this was meant to be just a Yay or Nay but I don't really fall into either camp and wanted to have my input.

Lets keep this bumped
till March 1st
Don't bump your own posts
You are not supposed to bump your own posts, as per the Daily Paul rules.
Register as Republican and Vote for Ron Paul
bbagnall, In this case I will !!!!
Why don't you mind your own business and I'll mind mine!
Nay
The battle is on the ground. Don't recreate a massive effort that is already in place, we have the Libertarian/Constitution 3rd parties. We have already seen that both will join in the effort for the people of caliber, consistence and integrity. Our problem is a corrupted communication line. While, the majority might like the other party flavors they (or the voting machines) WILL NOT venture beyond the tasteless brands of chocolate/vanilla or vanilla/chocolate.
If you’re serious, and I know you are, we need a war chest for media, newspaper, flyers, radio, tee-shirts and hip determination. The message has the answers and tons of appeal. Sure beats the State's push for a new Hitler Youth Group of mass Voluntary Servitude (slavery), dearmed, war cannon fodder, and service to a bankrupt jackboots.
Nay
If the republican party can't stick to its principles, then the democrats will successfully hold a monopoly on politics in America, and make starting a new party largely impossible to succeed.
Default nay.
The problems of the world mostly boil down to government meddling. Another way to put this is that the problems of the world are mostly due to the attempt to solve perceived problems via POLITICS, which is basically a strategy whereby the undeserving manage to get material support from their neighbors.
Libertarianism is mostly anti-political, taking the view that politics is an inappropriate approach to solving most human problems.
So ... why propose a new political party? To claim some new way to justify the tyranny of the majority? From the delusional notion that the two major parties can be upset by the introduction of a new party, when they have carefully set up plenty of roadblocks for new parties to insure that none ever challenges them seriously?
Listen to Ron. He explains time and time again that he's not interested in running on a third-party ticked because the deck is so thoroughly stacked against that option.
On the other hand, success stories are erupting all over the country -- with local Ron Paul supporters simply overwhelming the entrenched GOP leadership and winning party offices -- even taking over the party at the local level.
How do they do this? Because people remember the old Republican goals of reducing government and taxes, butting out of people's lives (economically, at least), and pursuing a humble foreign policy that combines a strong commitment to defense with a determination to let others around the globe find their own ways.
The effort and expense of creating a new party is perhaps beyond your capacity for imagination. It sucks.
On the other hand, you have a GOP that has lost its way, has no enthusiasm within the rank-and-file because it's so unconservative and unlibertarian that nobody can identify with it any more.
So you want to abandon the opportunity to take over one of the two major parties that restricts entry into the system by other parties, in favor of trying to introduce a new party in the face of all the roadblocks in place thanks to the R's and D's? Yeah, right.
The other gripe I have is that too much energy is spent on figuring out how to influence the political system, rather than just bypassing politics altogether and letting freedom do its thing.
So ... you can put me down for a NO NEW PARTY vote.
Nay.
3rd party gets nowhere. Totally take Repub. back to where they should be. BUT, have to find a way to defeat the growing # of people who go with "entitlements" all the way!
Nay
Third party, no chance. GOP is already setup, we've got to take over from the ground up.
Nay
Nay
YAY,
but continue to support RP-type candidates.
However, serious infiltration of RP-type candidates/members in both (r) and (d) is necessary . Then you can effectively recruit from within these parties.
I want to keep this going till March 1st
Please vote here if you already have not and make comments on the twin thread above.
Nay for now
IMO, If we can get the Rep Party just a little more towards talking about constitutional issues we can bring both Constitutional and Libertarian Parties (and probably quite a few smaller splinter parties nobody's heard of) into the GoP. I don't think that can happen with the Dems and I don't see it happening with Another party. Start replacing the "rockefeller" globalist centrist statist wing of the party. They've been working hard to get rid of the "religious right" (who I guess I'm a part of... but I don't agree with legislating morality AT ALL) and the constitutionalists. Well... that can swing both ways if we get as active in politics as we are in private happenings. Thing there is, I want to live a normal life so I do, they want to Control so that's what they work at and since people like us are doing everyday things they're busy working washington. And again, I don't think the fight is really against Individual people, but Ideologies and Ways of Thought, Personal Inclinations of Perspective and other "insubstantial" but potent Forces.
YAY
Yay.The dems and gop have been so corrupted and bastardized that people look at it as an evil and vote for the lesser. Something the people can trust, like a peoples party. Look into GOOOH.com and infiltrate and replace with real peoples choice.
Yeah!
The People's Republic of ...hey wait a minute.
Yay or Nay
Do what you want.
Free will being what it is, that is what you will do anyway.
If you were to see the level of apathy reigning in the two major parties, you might change your mind about forming a third, though. Lots of empty chairs to fill, and with that the power to right the errant vehicles.
Choose well, and be flexible.
You can take up a chair in one of the majors (what I would recommend) and still do what you want. They don't tattoo you or anything like that, no odor is applied.
Find your friends and work together.
Simple enough.
Government is force, period
I'm with TX below...
Both parties and our current corporate government SUCK. It's time for our government, a government of the people, by the people, for the people once again.
If the old cliché of "government by the people"
means self-government, then I'm with ya.

We set up our own
We set up our own Government, Yay. We set up our own party, Nay. We abstain from any party (withhold consent), Yay.

Nay. They want us to be
Nay. They want us to be divided and conquered.

Dr. Paul is way too honest to be linked to either of the two partys.

The "two party" system is a large part if the problem; let's be part of the solution.

Vote for third parties, unless their is a RP Republican running in your district. Taking over the Republican Party is our only real option, in my opinion.
Nay

YAY
THE AMERICAN PARTY !
NAY
But willing to listen.
NAY!
Stay the course, taking over the GOP is our only hope.
Nay!
As the Obama mystique unravels, we can bring good people back to the GOP in droves, and convert enough of the existing members to make a new mandate based on liberty.

Though I'm a huge fan of the Constitution Party and Chuck Baldwin, it's a rigged game. You don't play unless you are a member of the Repubs or Dems.
