Forbes Publisher's Advice to Obama "...Ron Paul is spot on"
Submitted by robpatozz on Sun, 02/01/2009 - 10:06
Forbes publisher, Rich Karlgaard, gives advice to Obama on the economy. He quotes Ron Paul and summarizes by saying "Ron Paul is spot on." It is nice when the MSM quotes Ron Paul and suggests the government wake up and follow Dr. Ron's advice. Are we making headway?! I agree with sdczen
Ron Paul is "spot on right" and then goes on to talk "investment". Governments don't invest; they spend; they misdirect; they waste. What the bleep is he talking about????

Too bad...
Too bad Obama will NEVER see this video and even if he did, he would not care.
If they want MY vote, they need to tell me why they are better than the other guy, not why the other guy is worse than they are.
Not so fast
.
It is easy to take pot-shots at Obama, but he knows the country is in a mess, and has stated - numerous times - that he welcomes opinions from those outside his office.
To say he would not care is saying more about you than him.
Give the guy a chance. At the minimum, he's better than Bush.
Wrong on every level
Obamarama ding dong is a Marxist on every level. To suggest that this prevaricating, pseudo-articulate sack of *$!*! has motivation to do anything even remotely constitutional or common sensical is delusional.
Even GW hadn't asked for
Even GW hadn't asked for $350billions in buddy handouts and asked Congress to prepare $800+billions of outright theft before his third week in office, so I'm not so sure about that one.....
It took a crisis to get GW to go completely off the kilter, and I guess some would argue O is already facing such a crisis, but I'd still wait a bit longer before declaring O much of an improvement.
Of course, in the big scheme of things it's a bit like arguing whether Hitler or Stalin was worst...
But perhaps if we field a
But perhaps if we field a candidate with a decent shot at the nomination, Forbes can drive a lot of rich folks' attention our way.
AWESOME!!!! AWESOME!!!!
This is a wonderful, wonderful deal---never knew Forbes was SO SUPPORTIVE of Dr. Paul.
WOW, is all I can say.
Occasional presidential
Occasional presidential candidate Steve Forbes has always tended to be a lot closer to Ron than any other candidates in the elections he has been contesting. Forbes and it's readers may be a bunch of insufferable rich old snots, but politically they're good, reliable supporters of liberty.
supported Mr. 911
Steve Forbes supported Mr. 911 "America's Mayor" and did frequent press interviews for him.
Much of what Steve Forbes was saying made sense, though Steve picked the wrong candidate to support.

I wasn't aware of that. How
I wasn't aware of that. How the heck did he end up doing that? I do vaguely remember some insinuations during the primaries that Crazy Rudy was really a libertarian; maybe that was psyOps from the Forbes wing of his supporters. Crazy, I tell you!
I remember some cycles ago many 'realistic' (The same wing who went for Barr this time, I guess....) Libertarians worked on Forbes' campaign. Didn't seem to work out much better for them back then.
Still, Mr. Forbes have in general been one of the less freedom antagonistic of those with a reliable national audience of influence peddlers, so I don't think we should completely write him off because of that one admittedly unforgivable gaffe.
he who laughs last laughs
he who laughs last laughs best, Go Ron!!
i think ron's been "spot on" since he was a babe!!!
yeah, and he's still a babe! lol

YES
Now because of this guy we will all turn it around and Obama will do exactly what our president will tell him to do.
For some reason I have a
For some reason I have a problem with him stating that Ron Paul is "Spot on right" and then goes onto stating that government money should be used to update power grids, medical information technology etc...
Mind you, that the latest Stimulus bill includes money for a national medical database that houses ALL of your medical records and also allows over 600,000 businesses access to this information. Medical privacy anyone?
When companies have this information they will use it to charge you more or cancel your policies, employment etc...

Privacy?
I don't think there's any privacy anymore. To fill out anything you need that pesky ole SS number. this way they can track almost anything, medical, jobs, property, registered firearms, income, and the list goes on that the government promised would not happen when people signed up for social security. By the way, is it not a slap in the face to the Jewish community? (Your SS number that should be with you always.)

don't provide it
"To fill out anything you need that pesky ole SS number."
Politely refuse to provide the taxpayer ID. If they don't like it, then you walk.
Due to Ron Paul activating me, I am now an elected government official on city council. I didn't provide a taxpayer ID for this position. I am also not getting paid because I didn't fill out the tax form, but THIS IS MY CHOICE.
What is your choice?
Please stop the defeatist attitude and please begin to work to change the system.

Well I commend you.........
Well, I commend and thank you for holding that position without monetary retribution. Your a patriot.
I agree, there is very
I agree, there is very little privacy. However, this medical records initiative is very egregious. Today, we do have a level of privacy with concern to our medical records. The government would never know if we go to a certain doctor or hospital. They have no idea what our health standard or condition is. On top of that, the 600,000 companies that are vying for this medical information currently have no way of obtaining it.
Our privacy is shot, but when this medical records thing goes into effect, the unintended (or intended) consequences will have devastating effects on us all.
High Cholesterol? Add 15% to your health insurance and 20% to your life insurance.
Have a history of high blood pressure in the family, even though you currently don't? Add 10% to your policy.
Have a history of cancer in your family? Add 75% to your insurance and Life Insurance is out of the question.
See where this will go? Everyone has some sort of medical history/family history. The question is how this information will be used against you.

first of all we must digg it hard
second Forbes has money and name and him joining our movement....reminds me of what Ralph Nader said that the only way for an independent candidate from a third party to win presidency would be if he is a billionaire.(remember Ross Perot?)

But how come the picture of Sam Palmisano shows him as the Chairman and CEO of Intel, not IBM? Who messed up there?

I love the job Ron Paul does
I love the job Ron Paul does spreading freedom ideas. Here in Europe he has more followers than he can imagine. But i think that he should insist on two ideas which are not obvious for most people: 1) Big corporations do NOT love free market and competition. They push for government regulations and safety nets as much as possible to build monopolies and become "indispensable" for economy 2) Government regulations hurt the small people, not the big. Big entertainment industry war against "piracy" is a good example.
Good Post
You are probably aware that Dr. Paul does speak about and endorse 1.) and 2.) but it would be good if he made this clearer at times.
