Sen. Lugar: Carbon Profiteer?

I'm watching Al Gore testify before the Senate foreign relations committee (on C-SPAN, 4pm) about........... guess what: global warming. I've heard the Gore garbage so many times that it no longer infuriates me. What caught my attention this time was Dick Lugar pushing GMO crops on third world countries because their food production will be devastated by the (alarmist's opinion of an) impending 3 1/2 degree F temperature increase.

My first thought on this: Is Lugar in bed with Monsanto?

Then Lugar says he is glad that the Chicago Carbon Exchange is beginning to price carbon because he will be a seller of carbon credits. Apparently, he is planning to do this based on the carbon sequestered in the hardwood trees on his property. WTF???

My second thought: Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?................ for the elites!
