Update: Obama's Speech, Freedom Opp. Company allows posting of Constitution

So, it's been a few weeks since I requested the President of our company to allow postings of the Constitution of the United States and Declaration of Independence in our Cafe's. I followed up with an email to our HR department (they like being informed :). Below is my email to the HR Director:

Dear HR Director

As you know, President Obama gave a great inaugural speech with a lot of different ideas. When I saw the faces of our employees watching the speech I realized that their hearts were not only touch but rejuvinated at the new opportunities that lay before him and us. One of the comments that most inspired me about his speech came at about 1 minute 40 seconds into his speech and lasted until 2 minutes 15 seconds < http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZKmo8Ihi08 . Below are the words he spoke:
"...yet every so often the oath is taken amidst Gathering clouds and raging storms. In these moments America has carried on, not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We, The People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forebearers and true to our Founding documents. So has been, so it must be with this generation of Americans."

After hearing this I thought that this is a simple, appropriate, non-confrontational idea, "Remain True to our Founding documents". The best way for Americans to do that is to see our Founding documents, often. In order for us to remain true to our founding documents and carry on as Americans we must view them in our places of commerce, work, homes, and recreational places. We as Americans, no matter how we feel about party should honour this non-partisan comment by our President by encouraging our fellow citizens to become knowledgeable about those documents on which our country was founded.

I am recommending that a Constitution and Declaration of Independence be placed in each breakroom. And, I am willing, at my own expense to provide pocket Documents for Employees to take at their leisure next to the mounted documents. The ones I purchase will come from a non-partisan organization the National Center for Constitutional Studies http://www.nccs.net/us_constitution.html. If you have another organization you recommend I would gladly look into purchasing it from them if you approve of this idea.

I hope this non-partisan idea based on President Obama's speech will keep the inspiration alive in our hearts at GOL and spread it around the country.

Please make this a priority in your place of work. This is a way to connect with Obama's supporters. We need to dice up the video so we only have the section that applies to the Founding Document.
