In New Jersey - Chris Christie or Steve Lonegan???

Hey DailyPaulers... the NJ race for governor is brewing already. Steve Lonegan, a former mayor and definite conservative is running again. He ran against Corzine last time but Corzine bought his way into the office with his own money. He's been a rotten governor.

I supported Lonegan in his last bid but a political conservative in this state will die on the vine with the mindset of the typical NJ voter.

Attorney General Chris Christie has thrown his hat in the ring this year. Supposedly, he's a gung-ho, anti-corruption type who cut his teeth on corrupt NJ politicians...which aren't too hard to find. But Christie is a GW Bush appointee. He resigned before Obama took office, a wise move, but little is known about him outside his crime-fighting ability. To me, being a lawyer and a Bush appointee are two strikes, not resume bullet-points.

Does anyone out there have any info on Chris Christie that might help? I wouldn't call him a 'media darling' but he seems to be the man they are swarming around as the 'republican hopeful'.

I'm sticking with Lonegan for now but I'm looking hard at Christie.

I don't want to wind up with a NJ version of Rudy Giuliani....

Supposedly Lonegan and Christie are neck-and-neck in the polls..

That means it's time for the NJ GOP to 'turn on the lie machine' and start their slander campaign.

All my neighbors are RINOs so they're all talking Christie whenever I hear from them.

I've got to get my LONEGAN yard sign quick.

The "Christy Todd Whitman" RINOs ...

may not find it so easy to kneecap a conservative this time round, especially if Lonegan identifies with the US Constitution and keeping his word. What's with New Jersey, anyway? You keep paying over and over for the lousiest toll roads in the country. Haven't you bought off Tony Soprano enough?

Christie is a typical NJ politician

Christie is the status-quo type and I expect he's the one they will try to shove down our throats. Your supposed to view him as anti-corruption, but I think he's very selective about which corruption he acknowledges. He went after 5-term mayor of Newark, James Sharpe, only AFTER he left office. And what about McCreevey?! He used taxpayer money to put an unqualified person in a security position, in the hopes of GETTING LAID! (...amongst plenty of other things, but my time is limited...) Christie and company didn't find a single illegal act to charge him with?! And never a word or explanation about what went on! Standard NJ politics! The fact that he supported Bush is just further proof he sucks!

I'll support Lonegan. But I have real doubts about our voting machines. Lots of talk about them before the November election. Not a word since!

Go get Lonegan's book, read it, and then give it to your neighbors.

Christie's has never won an election in his life, his last attempt he was something like 6th out of 6 candidates.

The NJGOP MACHINE wants Christie, they DO NOT want Lonegan.

What does that tell you?

Definately for Lonegan

Christie will cave to power once he drinks the kool-aid. Besides, he looks like he's drunk a little bit too much of something already. He used to be a LOT thinner, now looks like a huge TAX EATER.

I'm voting for Lonegan on June 2nd (think that's the primary date).

Lonegan is pro-gun rights. That's all I need to hear, other than that he's a self-made success story.

Imagine being able to obtain a concealed carry permit in the Democratic People's Republic of New Jersey??? Lonegan has my hopes up for now, at least until he gets Ron Paul'd by the neocons.

Vote Lonegan.

I was similarly torn. But it appears Christie, although a fighter of corruption, is not a lover of freedom, doesn't have a strong direction or specific plan, and his attack ads on 770 wabc were/are offensive misrepresentations.

I would almost still vote for him just cause he's got the better shot at winning. And then I remember that's the same reason I voted for Bush...I'm not making that mistake again!!!

I will vote hionestly and let everything els work itself out...it always does
